Flushing same thing as overwatering?

flushing in my view is used better in hydroponics . in soil i would just water a little more than normal towards the end to flush some of those nutes out.
flushing and overwatering are not at all the same thing. Flushing is simply using a solution (usually pure water or tap water) instead of feeding the usual nutes. You don't overwater the plant when you're doing this "flushing". The theory is that by taking in only H2O you will leach out all the latent chemical fertilizer with the plants hydraulic system. It's a sound theory and I'm sure that it always works. The argument is if you can tell the difference. Or in fact if it makes a difference. That is up to the individual to decide.

no, if the plant needed to be watered anyways it's a good thing you juist add more till it runs off heavily.
If you are growing in a peat based soil it's essential to keep 'em healthy.

Dont worry man everything will be fine. Even if the transplant shocks them it should only take maybe a week longer for your plants to finish. Im interested in what happens to your plants since we have the same problem.
And everyone else.... so overwatering isnt when you give too much water at once but rather watering too frequently so theres alot of moisture all the time?

Depends, i think most people refer to flushing as only giving the plant water in the final week/week in order to get rid of the minerals/fertilizers and cause the plant to eat itself reducing the chloryphll and making a smoother tastier smoke (if this is accurate i havent a clue and you will see alot of experienced growers on both side of the fence)
Now some techniques like "make it rain" call for running tons of water through your plants/pots. I dont know if its works or not but i imagine as long as your plants are established and you let it dry out it wouldnt do much damage (once again growers on both sides of the fence)
I would LOVE to see side by side mass experiments with good genetic clones using each theory and seeing the result on yield/quality/taste.
And yes overwatering really becomes an issue when it is done repeatedly and your soil isnt allowed air thus drowning your plants

done once or twice per grow is flushing and good for the plants for the reasons stated above. overwatering is done repeatedly and is bad for the plants

I updated my journal... not much change as of yet... the transplant did go well though. the roots were solid! I hope they were just a lil rootbound and the extra volume will help them straighten up.
