so i just picked up a bag of ffof was wondering if i should add any perlite or lime or is it good to go all my grows ive tryed inside have failed do to ph problem i think i never phed any of my water they would look good for a while then all a sudden start yellowing bad really wanna make this work this time ll be useing cheap ph paper strips i know they wont be perfect but it should give me an idea

Definitely Add Perlite, about 30%. Get a decent brand of perlite, one with NO TIME RELEASED NUTRIENTS. Instead of adding lime, add some spaghnum peat moss which will keep PH down over long period which is better than to keep adding lime, use about 1/5 spaghnum peat moss. Are you transplanting or just starting seedlings?

I just transplanted a 20" plant into FFOF and I did not add anything to it, a week later I have nute burn all over my leaves and its spreading, so def add perlite at least.

Good Luck !

Dont add more peat moss. Thats the cause of ph problems in the first place, as time goes on it becomes more and more acidic..adding more will only make it worse. Lime stabilizes that ph over time because its time-released.

I add 20% perlite and ~1tbsp lime/gal soil, along with ewc. If ph starts to drop, top dress with a little lime.

Yes. About 20% CHUNKY perlite and 1 TBS of dolomite garden lime per gallon of mix.

For seedlings I would either use another FOXFarm product called Light Warrior, or mix half FFOF and Light Warrior or any no or low organic nute soil.

You don't need to keep adding lime as Buzz said, you only add it to the mix once. If you plan to transplant like you should, you only need to add the lime into your final pot(anywhere from week 3-4 of veg) . FFOF will maintain a perfect pH throughout most of veg when watering with properly pHed water. No need to add peat moss.
