Fragile's first fems. An adventure in pollination.

This is my adventure into making my own feminized seeds. I have built a little 2 plant box and plan to do a whole plant pollination. The plan is to start 1 plant in this box and force it to herm and eventually move he other female plant into it to be pollinated.
This first time around I have no idea how long itll take the first plant to have mature pollen sacks, so it's likely I'll get the schedule wrong and have to collect pollen. We will see I guess!

ROUND 1
Grape stomper/GG#4 x Skywalker OG
Skywalker OG phenotype is a monster, never seen a plant grow like it has.
Went with plants I had available. These 2 will probably be the biggest seed run I do. Wanted to do a fairly big plant first time around just to get a feel for it.
The GS/GG is getting flipped it is in the tent now and has been topped and tied. The Skywalker OG will be pollinated.
First spray of STS will be tonight. I will let this plant veg for 5 more days before I flip to 12/12

THE SETUP
-2x3 tent
-27 gallon tote converted into a top down low pressure aero setup. Small 200gph DC pump feeding a spray bar. Bar sprays right below the netpots, it splashes the bottom, but doesnt keep it soaked. Approx 12 gallons of water.
-HLG v1 3000k board run at 90w currently
-STS solution (silver nitrate + sodium thiosulphate pentahydrate) will be sprayed every 5 days. Even painted my bottles black!

dumbass me forgot to put the filter bag over the bulkhead... had to pop some sprayers out and clean broken roots out of them from transplant... oops

Subbed. Thanks for the tag.I like that diy'ed tote and copulation chamber Frag.Nice. You'll only need 2 sprays 3 max if the day of flip is your first spray,solution strength dependent. It usually onmy takes 2 applications.By week 3 when you'll already have sacs forming.

Did you check out that link I posted? The only reason I posted his also is because I used it twice now and it worked. I copied it to the T.
I know you already had a recipe of your own. Lol,I can't find the original thread of yours where we talked about fem seeds. Admittedly,I'm a horrible searcher on forums.

How many seeds are ya looking to make? Single branch pollinations are great to harvest hundreds of seeds per branch while also ensuring sensi ganja to smoke.
You could reverse one branch of the GS/GG
and pollinate 1-2 branches of the Skywalker and get all the seeds you want(for now) and ganja to smoke. Not that seeded ganja isn't smokeable.

I did look over it. Didnt mix anything up yet. Pushed first spray off until tomorrow night so I had some time to read over everything again tomorrow. Will pay specific attention to that one, I have it bookmarked. Sounds like a slightly faster timeline than I've been reading about.

I think in the end I'd like a few hundred per run. This one is going to be dumb because the plants i want to use are already pretty grown and I dont want to wait another 2 weeks to start with other clones. I love learning by extremes and figuring out what not to do first lmao. Part of the experiment over the first few runs will be getting that feel for how many seeds come from how much plant and see if I want to do it a different way. I know for sure next run I'll start with smaller plants. The end plan is to cut a couple extra clones and grow seeds out while I'm growing the bud.

So by the timing of it, if i flip this one and spray it tomorrow, i should flip the second plant around the same time i do the second spray? Or you think i should go ahead and flip them both at the same time?

1. It happens fairly quickly.I went with 7 days between sprays,only took 2 to turn them. My first run using STS,my third spray retarded and prolonged pollen formation- I sprayed a 3rd time after sacs were present....BIG NO NO. My second STS reversal run was flawless. 2 sprays,day of flip and 7 days later.Done.

2.You'll get a hundred easy on a single branch with a mature plant with decent size. I've gotten 200+ seeds from a solo cup clone. Pollen viability is important of course as is the recipients willingness to produce beans.

3.Nah,you'll be fine. Doesn't matter how big the plant is as long as it reverses and you get viable pollen,you can check the viability with a mature plant/clone that is still in veg.Just dust this preflower stigma. You can get a couple beans per node here .

4. Me too,Im akways experimenting and seeking knowledge.
1 pollen grain +1 pistillate stigma=1 bean per bract. There are thousands of grains in the size of a grain of rice.

5.It can be done both ways. You just want to ensure your receiving female has plenty of pistillate stimga poppin'-golf balls full of white hairs by the time yoyr pollen is ready(collected &dried) unless you're just doing an open pollination,which is usually around week 4.

Should have both by week 4 from flip,pollen at the ready and receiving sites awaiting the jizz. Big ups my man for taking the preservation journey.

Will you be reversing the whole plant ofGS/GG? If she's a producer of viable jizz, you'll have a f%*kload of pollen. 1-2 branches worth will serve you well,and you can smoke the rest of the unsprayed branches. Yes,give Schwaggys reversal recipe and instructions some consideration. It works.

Wow cant thank you enough for all the advice! I feel much more confident going into this.
If I spray the bottom 2 branches only, could I let it pollinate itself and get fem gs/gg seeds at the same time?

Yes,you most certainly can! That's what's so cool about it,you can make 2 sets of beans. Your cross and some S1s of the pollen donor. Reverse the bottoms,and selectively pollinate a branch or 2 of itself for S1s,then hit the Skywalker for a fem cross. Win Win!

Not much to report yet.
Got my first spray done last night and went ahead and flipped them.
Covered everything up and only sprayed the bottom 2 branches. If this works out well, I'll likely do most of the runs like this with a single plant unless I'm trying to do a cross.

She looks nice splayed out like that Fragile. Did you mark the sprayed branches? Oh...I see,the two lower-most branches were sprayed. Yep,it's on now!!!

What size space. is that? I have a mini tent-5 square feet,thinking about doing a mini f&d scrogged in it.

is a 2x3x6 or so.
Thats how I start all of my plants, makes them nice and easy to manage.
I put it in the pot backward from what I meant to so it ended up upside down lmao.. its twisted back around and reaching for the light now.
I justdid the super crop a few days ago so it probably wont do much for a few more days then it should just explode.
