Well it usually isn't too funny when someone who is attempting to grow gets caught, but this time it was different. Me and a guy I used to be alright friends with were somewhat challenging each other to who could grow better. (produce higher yield, better quality, etc.)
Anyways 4 days ago I was getting off work across the street from the local K-Mart and there he is, climbing the outdoor fence of the lawn and garden department trying to reach a bag of potting soil that got stuck on top of the 12 foot chain-link fence when he had attempted to throw over the soil over, as to avoid paying for it. When as fate would have it a squad car was rolling by unbeknown to the potting soil thief.
Long story short he got a $150 dollar citation and his landlord was informed of his attempted thievery and a search of his apartment ensued by the landlord only to discover his lights and other growing materials in his closet. He was later charged with conspiracy to maintain a place of illegal substance production. (seeds were also recovered from his place)

Moral of the story, pay for the stuff you want/need, nobody likes a thief and you won't draw suspicion to yourself.
