germing question

i just bought seeds from the vancity seed bank. they have been germing for about 30+ hours. how long should i expect it to take? i used the damp paper towel and 2 plate method with it placed in my furnace room. i was also think would it be wrong to just plant seeds straight into the soil or is germing better?

there are people who rather just plant their seeds and there are people who love to germ first.... i personally like to germ first, just to make sure the seed isn't a dud...

as far as amount of time germing...it can take around 20 hours to around 4 days to germinate... place your paper plate in a plastic bag... that would help keep the moisture in...as long as you didn't soak the paper towel, you should be ok

Depending on the strain you should see the seeds crack using paper towel method in about 2-3 days. Usually I stick the tap root into peat pellets/ in cups once I see them, this has worked at about 95% success rate
