ok so went to vons they carry 2.5 gal distilled water jugs, got 6 so i have enough to wash the bud currently in flower soon, going to convert the 6 2.5 gal jugs to a side project i wanted to do but didn't wanna buy more clear containers, we are going super algae farmer boys soon. Also my tap water comes out at 450 EC before algae and offgas treatments, the algae gets it down to 250-300 but also is heavy in nitrite and nitrate but im fine with the numbers i can always water down

ok since i waited until i was screwed for time, im gunna try and upgrade the lotus cure setup im using to be automated
FridgeAny sealed 5–6 cu ft unit (used)$100–200
Fan system2x low-RPM USB fans$15–20
RH sensorsGovee / Inkbird / DHT22 combo$30–60
Temp sensorsDS18B20 or Govee BLE loggers$10–20
MicrocontrollerESP32 / Pi Zero$15–35
Control interfaceNode-RED / MQTT / Mobile scriptFree
RH buffer systemDIY purge tank + copper + sponge$15–25
Humidifier (opt.)Ultrasonic + relay/timer control$30–50
Dehumidifier (opt.)Peltier unit or desiccant pouch$25–50
Grove Bags1–3 test bags$10–20

im building it myself with some of chatgpt's input, the goal is to be able to regulate the water the fridge naturally pulls to the back and drains out the bottom of the fridge, since the fridge doesn't need to water on the compressor to cool it won't notice it being rerouted else where. so the hole that removes the water will get a controllable valve, once i dial this in i won't need the dehum and the humidifier, those are just safe guards and more controllable than leaving a sponge in the fridge or cotton like i did last time.

I already own most of this list i just posted for reference, im going to try and take good pictures of this process so i can track failures.

I deep dove the last few days on VPD (vapor pressure deficit) and the guy who made the cannatrol, i believe his information on the matter is good however 1600+ for a fridge with a few mods is crazy imo. however in his videos unless hes misleading he gives what he believes the optimal VPD for curing weed is, which more or less is (RH (math) Temp)1754412499168.png
Random image from the internet on this subject, but as you can see 50% RH is relative to the temp while the VPD changes, i wouldn't use this chart for curing as it doesn't go low enough temp, but its just for reference.

Another lotus cure going down, less worried this time but still not finished with the project

also just had a thought and wanted to make a note, the silica rechargeable dehydration sacks, i have pictures of some in this journal they are yellow bags about the size of a corn hole bag. What if you precharged these to 60ish % RH to whatever your cure method is, if the RH goes lower they should release moister back into the air, if it goes over with the bud they will pull the RH down taking some of the vapor out of the air. keep in mind i would sterilize between uses for curing so you don't bring nasties in

been draggin ass this week, getting things done but my body is like slow down and im like here drink these redbulls and drive on.

Lotus cure is going good, i have two 1 pound grove bags standing up right in the fridge, the tops are opened. I knew i was going to case harden the weed on day 1 or 2 with how hot the garage was getting. day 3 the weed is doing its thing again, the fridge smells like holy balls sweet sativa.

The grove bags will be closed today but stay in the fridge.

Warm today

Garden update;

Happy with the biggest plant because its been a while since i've topped since im mostly growing autos these days and i just let those go normally. the 3 way im growing has to be kept under the fence, he/she might turn into a indoor grow because i don't wanna cut it too much, i kinda wanna let it go wild from here on out, but i don't see signs of sex yet

side note for you younger kids, finish a project before you start another, i have nothing but projects going atm and while it keeps me busy, its alot going on lol. im in the middle of a sewing job, fridge lotus cure (im still dicking with hourly, not because it needs it but because its not 100% automated yet.) I got a bunch of raspberry pi jobs i need to finish and make my life easier. got a bunch of 10 foot sticks of 1/2 pvc for a few projects from home depot for like 3 bucks a stick. picked up 1/2" pvc fittings for tents and other pojects i will soon be taking pictures of, nothing crazy. meanwhile my 88 samurai is sitting in the street with no starter in it because i need to put a flywheel in it and clutch, which i have both but its kinda been a lax summer for heavier lifting type stuff. I'm spose to take my jeep to a maker convention next month because they want me to show it off. first world problems

Hey bud ,you sound like me i have multiple projects on the go
Are you on a ph or pc ?
You know you can have your images load so they are easier to view .
Ive added some pictures that show how on phScreenshot_20250810-123055_DuckDuckGo.jpgScreenshot_20250810-123159_DuckDuckGo.jpg
