Getting connections?

Hi.
SWIM is writing a book, and the main character is looking to get a handgun/long-gun because he needs it. He has people looking for him and he needs to protect his interests. He lives in Canada and I hear they have crazy gun control laws and obtaining a legal one is impossible due to a criminal record he obtained as a young adult. Now, for SWIMs book he needs to know what the most effective means of obtaining a gun is. He doesn't want to portrayed as a character that breaks into houses to steal them, he would rather buy it with cash.

Hypothetically speaking, if you were writing a book how would YOU (in the position of the main character) go about trying to obtain a gun. Specifically in Ontario since thats where the book is based.

That's his problem, his connects are all locked up..
He kept to himself in jail, was only in there for a few months..

then he takes a trip to china town and links 1 up, perhaps even gets a few jobs and goes bak to how he was.. i dont know the story line so its hard to give imput

Thanks man, really I can't expect a answer from anyone I guess. It's not like someones gonna throw a name/number out there.
Could hit up Toronto and setup trap until he gets a good connect. Although the two things he doesn't want to do is break into houses/cars to steal them, and he doesn't want to have to sell dope in order to get connections. He was considering not paying his tickets and spending time probatem in jail instead so he could get the connects.. Good idea?

sounds good depending on what hes protecting.. if hes protecting himself, then jail time will help him as well as get conections... but if hes protecting sumthing else, then it would be left unprotected

He's more protecting interests, his family was fucked with.
One of his brothers was made a fool of and ripped off a sizeable amount of change.. and his other brother was setup and gangbeat/robbed./
The main character is like 200lbs 6'1 and a good fighter, however both these guys are armed and someone needs to stop them and teach them a lesson..
His brothers would have done it themselves, except they are afraid of retaliation/being murdered.. He figures if his brothers are "out" on a trip in vegas and the deed is done they would never expect it was from the family..

what if he hires a hitman or kills them another way them a gun???

since you can not get handgun he gets a hunting rifle, like a AR-10 or a 30.06. and he waits till turkeyday when dat gangbanger is spendin time with family and shoots him threw the window in the face from a couple blocks down in the back of a van, or insted of a gun he rigs up some home made explosives like napalm or sumthin

This dude needs to take a ride down to the U.S. and go to a gun show there are plenty there.Then its just bringing them back to canada.Or he could come to Philly where a 10 year old would sell him one And alot of the gun shop owners do alot of deals under the table also.
