Going from Smoker to Grower

I started smoking weed when I was about 16, or 4 years ago-ish. A few guys in my class smoked me up and it became a lifestyle! For the past couple of years i've been interested in trying to grow my own personal marijuana for many reasons; sick of dealers, going broke, we all know them. It's not until the past few months that i've been getting serious about it. The other evening after acquiring some herb, it had been a while, I noticed immediately I looked at it differently. I said to myself "wow, dry much?" I wouldn't have noticed that before when I was just a smoker, enjoyer of the ganj bongsmilie So many things about the herb I knew were because of the way it was cut/cured or grown. I asked the guy if he knew what strain it was and he had no idea, kind of upsetting.

Sooooo I told you this long, boring story because I want to know if anyone else out there has had this type of experience!

I've been a smoker for many years, and recently got my medical marijuana recommendation. Now that I can buy in the dispensaries, I'm much more familiar with the names, strains, etc. Not to mention I can now see how far superior the weed is when it's grown with such expertise.

My dealer is heartbroken now that I can get the really good stuff!! LOL She was making a lot of money from me...

I'm on my first grow now, so we'll see what kind of quality I come up with, but I just wanted to say that, yeah, I look at it differently now, too!

That's great Sapph! I wish I could get a medical marijuana card, unfortunately where I live its not really possible without acute fatal leukemia.

I think its defintley more enjoyable seeing and smoking great marijuana knowing how much effort and care it took into making it. Unfortunately its also worse now when I get bad buds :evil:

Do you have any pictures of your plant? I'd love to see your progress! I want to write up my journal sometime in the next few days.

yep i DEFFINATLY can relate.
my hook-ups are always real bummed out when im the first customer to call out a shitty cure, or over priced buds lol
and i actually realized that the type of smell i fell so in love with was simply a lack of flushing, and was actually alot of nasty chemicals..... haha
learning about growing has deffinatly changed my perspective/experience when buying or smoking. for the good of course.
i've been growing perpetually for about a year now. starting to get some good killer buds =]
im happy to say i now can grow better weed then i can buy. its an amazing feeling!!:hump:bongsmilie
