i have grass clipping that spent a couple months in a compost pile. my quetion is could i use the grass clippings instead of dirt? it smells like rich dirt if that helps

as long as its a outdoor grow man or you'l bring half a dozen bugs into your grow room

It needs to be fully composted or it will actally suck nitrogen from the soil, and your plant. Grass clippings if not composted completely will also burn your plant (I actually use them in my garden to kill weeds lol). So just be really careful, but I'd use something else. GL HH
