hi alll..............i recently added the most potent of my trimmings to a half-drank bottle of 151 proof rum.....I know it sounds disgusting:spew:....i didnt really dry the leaves at all so when i mixed them with the rum it turned reallllly bright greeen then eventually turned so dark it didnt seem green anymore. I am just wondering if there is any harm in drinking this concoction. The chlorophyll doesn't look very delicious......THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!:peace::peace:

Isn't there a step that requires heating in the green dragon recipe? I think you need to "decarboxylate" the thc before dissolving it. Heating it to 325F does this.

i don't think you need to heat the green dragon to work as long as it is left soaking for long enough (ie weeks/months). I haven't made green dragon before, but I've looked into a bunch so I'm pretty sure it doesn't need to be heated.

but if it does, I agree with kittybitches about the fire extinguisher idea!

Contrary to popular belief, THC does not need to be heated to be activated. It simply needs a vehicle of delivery. If you wanted to eat cannabis leaves you probably could and get high. I don't know how high you'd get, but it could work.

THC is water insoluble, so it needs a carbohydrate string to attach to. Thus the alcohol as a solvent. or saturated fats as in cooking cannabis.

It's not the heating, per se, it's the extraction and concentration. But THC is effective at room temperature. ;)

Since there is not likely to be evidence that something does not need to take place, but that if something were required to take place them someone surely would have documented this; please cite a reference on this if you intend to dispute my statement about a heat requirement.

Ive never heard of having to heat it up.

Good luck, tell us the outcome eh!|

On a side note, isn't doing this the exact same as making a tincture? Except a more potent form?

Yes, it is exactly that. :)

Also, apparently decarboxylation is useful in converting insoluble THC acids into soluble THC.

From the wikipedia article I cited a few posts back:
There is some evidence to suggest that baking (as in "drying") the dry buds and leaves prior to adding them to the alcohol in either method increases the potency of the resulting preparation[1][2]. This is because the baking process converts insoluble tetrahydrocannabinol acids into soluble THC (see decarboxylation).

ah thank you for clearing that up.

I use tinctures all the time, Rub it in on my skin for a nice numbing effect. Had a bad sunburn, tincture it up and BAM, feels great!

Sure!

As best I can tell tinctures can be made from any herb, so I was curious what tinctures you were making. :)

hey yeah im not sure if not drying the leaves is a problem but it should be safe to drink as the alcohol kills any bacteria... You dont need to heat it up- just place it in your closet/dark area for about 2-3 weeks. Start out with about a shot to guage the effects and wait 20-30 min as it kicks in much faster.

WOAH!
325ºF is good for bonding THC to other molecules... Decarboxylation is 220ºF, but no higher than 230º. Put it in a pre-heated oven for 15 minutes at 220º before you throw em in next time. That stuff ain't good for you.

You can eat weed and get high, yes, but you'd need to eat about 20 grams of it, and this would also result in a serious tummy ache and you eating tons of THC(A), which is highly carcinogenic.
I don't need a reference, I'm a pro.

I took 40 grams of popcorn nugs and sugar leaves (fuck stems and fan leaves) dried them out first and baked them at 320 degrees f for 5 minutes. My entire kitchen smelled.
After that I poured 24 oz. of bombay saphire gin over it in the mason jar and let it sit for a month shaking it once a day.
The final product turned out great. A half shot would give you a nice head change. I mostly stored it in 1 oz bottles and drink it with my alcoholic drinks. 2-3 squirts and your drink tastes like marijuana flowers. You also had to shake up the jar because of the thick layer of hash that would settle to the bottom. When you shake the jar it makes the green turn into an amber jade color.
