Hallucinogen persisting perception disorder

Has anyone ever heard of HPPD?

Its extended hallucinations, and visuals when NOT tripping. Its very controversial, not confirmed, not experienced by everyone etc.

Here is a wiki site with all the information you could want on it:

Hallucinogen persisting perception disorder - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A friend told me about HPPD a while back, and it scared me a bit. I always had the symptoms people who claim to have HPPD have. Everything I see is rather staticy, I see shadows from time to time, I see strange lines (I will outline this in a picture at the end of my post) and sometimes...I actually hallucinate. I've seen countless giant spiders running, and had to double take to see how long they would stay.

I was amazed when he told me other people actually experience this.

Here is the best example I can give of the way I see certain things.

This is my room...notice the blue and red outlines around the window. I see the outlines of things that are BRIGHT OR WHITE (for example, something infront of a wall that is painted white)...and its just a hue. The edge seems to distort and blend, and I can't quite tell where the edge IS. That visual is horrible, but its the best I could do to try and show you.

sounds like you either ate too much or have a very susceptible neurochemistry...when and how much have you tripped in the last year or so?

idk man, staticy? had your eyes checked lately? if i take my glasses off everything is more staticy then fuzzy like more people describe bad vision. if you ever see these lines either really dark or really light float across your vision that could be damage to your retina. wiki floater. definetly get your vision checked. it sounds like hppd but glasses might solve some of your vision problems for you

Actually, my mom works for an eye doctor, so...if ANY part of me is healthy, its my eyes.

She knows about me tripping, and I've explained these effects to her before. We've had me checked out before, theres no damage to my eyes.

Really? You guys don't get this at all? Hmmm.

Try getting some new curtains lol:mrgreen:

Seriously though a lot of heavy trippers end up with some kind of visual artifacts ranging from minor things to major things.
Unless its really doing your head in i wouldn't worry about it.
If your suffering from flashbacks stop doing trips for a while and clean yourself up.
Personally i would never take another trip ever again as i know myself and tripping can make to many changes to your personality:blsmoke:

I'm a heavy tripper in comparison to my friends...

Shrooms, 5g's every 2 weeks (accumulated over 2 trips)

Acid, whenever I can get it, generally 3-4 hits at a time.

LSA, once a month or so.

DXM, once a month or so.

Salvia, when I get the chance.

Mescaline, soon to be quite often.

I'm not complaining. Actually, I like it. It makes things more interesting...I as just wondering if anyone else is getting the same effects I am.

Edit: And those curtains DO fucking suck. Look at all the light that gets in. BLAH! I can't replace them now. I can never tell when they might end up a puddle on my floor. Hahahah.

What you are talking about is optical illusions, your eyes playing tricks on you. I think when you do LSD a lot you start to notice the light reacting with objects and patterns around you. I think it is totaly normal you're just looking for it now!:peace:

But yeah, get some new curtains, lol.

Dude, I know what your talking about. I used to take alot of shrooms. One day we took like a 1/4 each and went for a hike in the bush. Everything was good, we tripped on the trees and shit blowing in the wind. A few months later, I had stopped taking shrooms due to a few too many bad trips, and I'm hiking in the bush looking for somewhere to grow and I start tripping on the trees again. It was the weirdest feeling. No stoney giggles, no butterfly's, just visuals. Since I haven't done any shrooms in a few years now it hasn't happened for a while. But I know what you speak of, though I was never able to put a name to it before. One question, did you every get that funny feeling in your stomach, like you where starting to get high and its there til you snap out of it? Just curious.

Sounds like you have eaten too much acid and you are having flash backs. When i was young and wild i ate a lot of Acid,X, Mescline,2CI, Methylone but i guess i was lucky. I have never really had that problem thank God. I had a few things happen like that a day or two after i tripped but that was about it. Here is every thing you need to know about HPPD Erowid Psychoactive Vaults : Hallucinogen Persisting Perceptual Disorder (HPPD) / Post-Hallucinogen Perceptual Disorder (PHPD). I would lay off of that kind of stuff. I am sure it will probably go away eventually. Its very rare for it to last for ever as long as you stop doing that kind of stuff.

Yeah having black and white curtains with spiders on may not help matters lol.
If you want the best trips do light bulb staring on your own with the headphones on with some trippy music playing on them loudly, with strictly no vocals only sound.
Stare at a normal lamp for a couple of minutes up close and then close your eyes and lay back on the bed and see what you see then lmfao:blsmoke::peace::joint:

Oh man...I think I know what you mean. I was looking for that in the HPPD description, but I couldn't find anything. It started happening BEFORE I was using hallucinogens though.

I get it when I'm like alone(ish) near some woods...kind of a feeling of vertigo, a "zoom in" feeling and sense of being. Growing up, I thought it was like deja vu...but after I started tripping I feel it more intensely, and in different places.

Sometimes everything seems to be vibrating for me but thats about it... kinda static-like i guess you could say... like my wall always seems to be a bunch of different colors... definitely like static. but my eyesight is 20-20.

I always remember, as a youth, when I got tired I'd see little blue and red dots...thousands of them on my ceiling and stuff. Only in the dark now.

Now, I see them all the time. Haha. Maybe I'm just fucked up.
