Halogen lights

so i got this halogen light, 250 watt, check it out, think itll do with like 2 cfl 11 watts? plus i got a lil grow box. fan on the outside blowing in cold air into the box(its got 2 holes on the top of all four sides) think thatll regulate air flow? and for moisture.. good idea to keep the water bottles in the box so the water gets evaporated in there?

While excellent for home lighting and similar applications, halogen lamps are not effective or efficient as grow lights due to their very poor spectrum (extreme far red) and high operating temperatures.

i think your a dumbass, your just wasting money with that halogen, go out and buy some cool blue 27w CFL's and put em in there!!!! YOU CANT GROW WITH HALOGEN!!!!! CFL, MH, or HPS, thats all!!!!!

ahhh, meaning i probably shouldnt use it huh? shit.. lol only powerful light i got. even though its not effective n efficient u think ill still get my plant growing with it?

haha i didnt buy it. friend found it in his house, wasnt using it. lol hurd bout my new hobby, just brought it over. but thanks for the advice, i got couple 11w cfls, the dep. store near me hasnt stocked the higher wattage lights yet

It'll grow, but the vast majority of the growth will occur in the stem and not in the foliage...which is what you need if you want to actually harvest marijuana. Invest in CFLs or MH for vegetative growth.

them 2 11w cfls should do the job for a few weeks growth if theyre the blueish 6400k ones(they look a bit reddish in the pics), youll need better ones later on though.
