I think the out come would be ghrimm , but try it if your willing to risk the herb let us know how it gos

Dont you use rice to dry stuff out faster/keep it dry?

You want to dry herb slow for the best smoke so rice wouldnt be ideal

I have, I used it as damage control for some buds that had some slight white mold starting in the center here and there.

If I remember correctly the first time I used it was because I didn't have any of those moisture capsules lying around. I needed it for a jar 1 week after jaring. It was 2 cheesequake colas that where as dense as a corn cobs. I didn't want to air dry any more because it was mid july high temps, and the outside of the buds was too dry as it was.

I threw in a very thin layer of rice in the bottom of the jar, like two or three grains depth. Worked like a charm...as far as I could tell. Mold stopped and the buds evened back out. It helped draw the moisture back up and out through the bud.

I got the idea because that was what my grandma used to do with cookies to keep them longer that or bread. I think I was high when the thought came to me. :bigjoint:

Just do it the right way don't cut corners with something that took you 3 months to produce. Good Luck

I want to try those! I was thinking of rigging my dry room up with a humidifier(I know crazy right?) with a humistat. This is my first grow in CO and its dry as a MF here. I feel like some extra humidity will do a lot of good

Someone say im wrong if im wrong tho lol

Depends on the volume of bud and the area in which youre drying. Right now its easy to keep my bathroom at 50-60% while my buds are drying. Keep hygrometers in the room and dump air as needed with the lower RH colorado air. My buds are giving off enough moisture to keep the room where I need it to be.

I think thats one of the main reasons people have poor results with them, they expect the boveda to dry fresh cut bud for them to 62%

wishful thinking right? ;)

O dont get me wrong, they work. But they work as a stabilizer with a few degrees variance of a product (cigars, bud etc) thats similar to the humidity of the boveda.

edit: I actually just ordered 6 ;)

I use the bodeva (62%) packs after my weed is about 3/4 through the curing process. They are designed more for RH stability rather than being used to cure wet weed.

I can get a two week dry in Colorado without added humidity. By the time my outdoor season ends, my garage maintains about a 40-50 degree temp which helps slow dry them in low humidity. They absolutely still have enough moisture to cure, sometimes still too much.
