Has anyone smoked a nug directly off plant when u cut it?

well my roomate is on his first soil grow and im doing im goin on my 3rd harvest with hydro and im lovin it but anyways my roommate wayyyyyyyy over nute burned the plant like insane amound ive never seen so its like 6 weeks in flowering had no fan leaves and was just bare with lil about half inch wide i mean i got 20 gs off it but like it was dry to the touch like crisppp and i started flushing it and for 2 weeks it did nothing at all so i cut it this morning and i put it in a bowl bc it was so dry and it lit up perfectly and didnt taste to bad at all haha. Well i was jus wondering if anyway has herd of smokin directly off plant i hung the nugs up and it didnt lose any weight at all in 1 nights drying, unlike my hydro i lose like 10gs a night.
