Has my plant hermied??

I wish i could post some pics but I don't have any batteries at the moment. My ak-48 that is farthest along has started forming, what looks like to me, seed pods. I broke one open to see what was inside, and it was a very small green thing. Looks like a baby seed. The thing thats got the seed like thing(its green) inside it is the same thing that appears on the nodes when it shows female. I"ve had some issues with light durring the dark cycle. None of my plants have any male flowers...

Look up male seed pods and calyx's like in the pic above. Calyx's will begin to swell in flowering and if you don't know the difference it will look like your plant is a hermie. Swollen calyx's are a good thing, seed pods are not of course.

I know how important pictures are and it really sucks I can't post any. But I can say with almost 100% certainty that pods in question are in fact calyxes. What is bothering me is that there is a bunch of them forming on my main cola now. 3 right next to each other in one spot. Its making the cola look weird. I opened on of the pods(calyxes) up and it has a little greed thing in it. LIke an immature seed. The calyxes still have red pistols sticking out....

Is this normal for so many calyxes to form on the top? I'll post pictures later if I can...

Found some batteries with enough life to let me take a few pics.

Very curious to hear what you all think. If you want more pics I can try and get em. In hindsight I guess i should have turned off the HPS.

I'm not sure exactly how a hermied plant looks but I do know what a plant with a ton of seeds looks like and it to me it just looks like it got pollinated some how and your stuck with a shit load of seeds. I'm gonna have to go check a few pics to see what hermies look like just to make sure, but to me it just looks like it seeded out.

All the pics I've seen so far of hermies doesn't look like yours. The ones I've seen have buds on it, as well as prominent male pollen sacks. Have you seen any pollen sack clusters any where on the plant. Take some pics of the lower nodes and post those.

LOL it's not funny but I should take some pictures of my hermies for you to see. I have plenty to show you. It takes seeds 3-5 weeks to develop and mature so if you are at the end of your cycle you might be okay. I am in week 6 of flower and there are some seeds starting to mature already. If you don't find some pictures, I can get some for you tomorrow. It's a sad sight for sure.

I really appreciate all the feedback. Sorry its taken me so long to get back. Today I went through all of my plants again...paranoid....but I couldn't find any signs of a hermie. Here's the thing though. I've cut down 2 other AK-48's early. I noticed in one of the dried cola's what appeared to be a nanner. I separated from the bud and squished it open between my fingers and it looked to me LIKE pollen. But it was so small, I can't say for certain.

I couldn't find any other nanners in the other buds. And I looked real good today. No balls, no nanners. But ya'll are right, she is weird looking. I've busted open a few of the calyxes and sure enough there are little green immature seeds. So, I guess that's that.

However, they will finish within a few weeks, I believe. I've got my 420 scope on the way. Now, I'm not gonna have ANY problem with harvesting her early, those buds are looking so delicious, but If I can I'm gonna let her go a little longer.I've got enough stash to last a little longer.

So what should I do? I don't want seedy bud. How long before those little green things start turning into seeds. Is it true that if a calyxe has been pollinated that the pistol will retract?

Thanks in advance for the help!!! Smoke on:blsmoke:

I don't know about the pistol retracting. I haven't heard anything about that, but I'll definitely look into it. As for the stuff looking like pollen, it probably was. If it is a white powdery substance I would think it's pollen, but I don't know why it would be in a bud unless it was a hermie, but I'm sure you would have noticed all the little pollen sack clusters that would have been all over it. Sounds strange to me, but in the world of science you can't rule anything out.

Ah, now I see the answers to the questions I asked you. There is no mistaking a banana on a plant. They're hard and a yellowish color. Take tweezers and try to remove them from the base of the flower they are on. If you even squish one in your fingers the pollen has to go somewhere. What I have decided to do after reading up a bit is to cut back my time from 12/12off to 11.5/ 12.5 off for a few days and then go 11/13off. Supposedly this will force your flowers to finish quicker (8-10 days quicker), and help finishing them faster so the seeds don't develop. We're having the same problem amigo. That is what I am doing with mine but I'm beginning week 7 of flower.

\I'd love to be able to change the lights but I have other plants in the room. If the bannana is suppose to be hard than this probably wasn't it, but it sure look suspicious to me. Maybe its a light leak...
