Somebody else will answer that part better than I can. I've just gotten around to adding reds to my setup
Okay, one thing im curious about is, ive found ones that have a driver seperate and ones that have it built in....the one i was looking at has 8 single driver built in which i would assume is going to be hot?? Whats your thoughts on this

Do i need one with all these other spectrums or should i just go for white and red + ir?
most of those lights have 660nm red leds already' adding UVA and violet light will improve taste and potency but you can groq without them.HPS has almost no vtolet or UV but still grew well

In my opinion 3500k is best all around. Add 660 Nan reds and you're golden. External drivers are more efficient and they can be remotely mounted to avoid heat issues. Currently run 800W actual Cree COBS at 3500K. Just ordered v3lm301h's with 660 at 3500k. I compared the two and the quantum boards are better.
