Get a beginners book on growing marijuana.. You have all winter to bone up. Preparing a growsite is different all over the US, not to mention the world...

Or go read some outdoor grow journals, see how THEY prepared. I recommend fdd2blk, he's grown some monsters in his backyard.

Word... Grow Journals will get you going in the right direction. FYI, always search around for answers to what you are looking for first. Then if you can't find it post a question. People are more then happy to help you out, but not if the question has been asked before. Good luck with your grow next year dude, and welcome!
