Hey guys, I need some advice.
I am very new to this as this is my first grow.
So I will post a few pictures and hopefully get some advice.
Let me start off by saying, I have read a lot of posts and threads on this forum and I have used it to do my best at growing a plant. I am only growing one plant and it is from some pretty good bud I get. I germinated about five seeds and only two came through and out of those two only this one started to grow. I started off with one rubbermaid box and now I have two stacked on top of each other. I am trying to learn from my own mistakes so I can plant what I ordered last week. I ordered 3x seeds from attitude seed bank, they are Auto AK-47 x Lowryder #2.
After starting this with one box I realized with the lights hanging down and the final pot size, I really needed more room for this so I bought another box and put the lid on the bottom with screws and cut out the bottom of the container and the lid, making a sort of insert.
After realizing from the lights I added and the space I was having really bad temperature problems. I turned the bottom two fans into fans blowing in and added two more fans at the top blowing out.
I do not have any pictures of me making the box so I will start with the first version of the box.
This is a picture of the first version of the box.
Here is a picture of the left fan blowing in.
Here is a picture of the right fan blowing out.
This is the lighting on the lid.
This is the top right view of the box.
This is the top left view of the box.
This was about a week after I planted the germinated seed in a plastic cup.
This was a couple of days after the last picture I believe.
This was about a week later when I repotted into a 12 inch pot. At this point I realized I may have made a mistake by going up on the pot size so fast. Can someone tell me what they have experienced by doing this?
This is a closer picture of the one above from when I repotted it.
This is the next day when I built the insert and put it in place. It is a top view and if you look on the bottom left its a small humidifier trying to keep the humidity up and on the right in the middle is a hygrometer.
This is a look in after I added more lights on the side. A few days after this, I changed all the bulbs to 23W CFLs that are equivalent to 120W.
These are some close ups of the plant from when I moved it into my closet. Before I put the insert I had a couple of spots on the plant get burned from the light touching it. Now if you notice the leaves are pointing down at the ends. I have read this is probably from over watering but I haven't watered them in some time because when I repotted them I gave it a good watering and the dirt still looks moist. Not sure what I can do about this.
Full picture of the plant from last night.
This is the last picture I took last night, you can see the new bulbs and the sticky fly paper.
I am sorry if the quality is not that great, they were all taken from my iphone.
Before I moved this to my closet I was getting about 16-20% humidity and 65°F-85°F on my temperatures. My lights are on 20/4. I pH my water to 6.5 and I am using Scotts Seeding Soil from Lowes. Right now I have eleven 23W CFLs which are equivalent to 120W. I took out the humidifier because it was too hard to reach to fill up with water. Now that it is in my closet I have to prop up the lid and leave the closet door open a bit and I am still reaching 97°F, if I shut the lid and the closet door I end up at 105°F+. I am about to put a frozen 2 liter bottle in their after I make this post hoping it brings the temp down. I have the vents in the ceiling closed right now because I am scared to add any extra heat. I also noticed some little gnats, I think they are harmless but I added one of those sticky fly traps from the lid last night and I bought a No Pest Strip but I do not think I will be using that after reading other posts on it.
Please tell me if I am on the right track or way off track. Be honest, I am looking for other peoples opinions, good or bad.
Thanks in advance.
