Help with CO2 tabs...

Hey peeps

Got some co2 tabs from no mercy supplies and solved one of them in water and added to my nutrient solution before watering just as the lights came on the other day...

Apparently it needs to be done during the day cycle so that the co2 tabs can bind to the water (4-6hrs) and start releasing c02 to the roots

Im looking forward to seeing some results

My question is... they say that the co2 tabs can alter the pH of the nutrient solution which is obviously bad for uptake of nutrients so i was just wondering if there was anyone else out there who is using them and how you combat this.

Since i dont know how long it takes to alter the pH im finding it hard to work out, maybe its instant?... maybe it takes a few hours?

Anyone using them at the moment...

Ps it also mentions something about using it in conjunction with "bacterial" although i have no idea what this is?

Need some help

Noone?...

Is there anyone out there using these

I thought they would be a great idea as my temps can be 80-90F depending on the outside weather at the moment

Im just wondering how much it affects the pH (only drawback i can see)...

if you were going to add co2 to the soil .. you should've just used seltzer water, or club soda. I've always assumed that co2 tablets like excellofizz were ment to be put in water and placed in the grow room. not the plant itself

yeah well these are supposed to be added to the water for the plants... i just crushed one up and added it and then checked the pH - it went to 4 and i had to add a ton of pH up to get it back to 6

Im taking it you have to crush 'em up then add to the nutrient solution then recalibrate the pH and you do this at lights on time as it takes a while for the tabs to bond to the water...

If anyone else has some experience of using them then feel free to chip in

I checked out several reports of usage on this product. They don't work, they can't work. Co2 is takin in throught the stomata not the roots. Your overall growth is not going to be much different. Forget that product or just do a test on one plant...

i will give it a go since i have bought them... just need to keep the pH in check

interesting product... i took some advice and used seltzer on a few plants recently. It has to help some. but i dropped the fuck out of my ph. which is never good. but it also supplies oxygen and helps the roots absorb more nutes quicker??? but as for co2 in water or seltzer, i've heard it causes carbonic acid ... which is why you're seeing your ph drop. I 'm not expert by any means. But i don't think you should use this product regularly with your watering. If anything foiliar feed with it. But only use it once and a while as a treat. At least that's what i've read.
good luck with everything though!!
