So I found 2 seeds in some really nice bud I got from a buddy that he grew, it means alot too me. I found 2 seeds in the bud, one is really dark brown, the other one not so much. But well see if they germ next year, but my question is, say my seeds I have are A1. If I crossed A1 with a unkown strain, and got seeds from that, and grew those seeds, I would end up with plants with either more genes of the A1 plant, or the unknown strain. If I took a male of the more A1 plant, and a female of the more A1 plant, and crossed those two, I could eventually end up with a stable A1 plant? Am I wrong? Sorry if that doesnt make sence.

heres a breakdown, kinda twisted but it helped my friend understand. rofl. take your mom and dad, they have kids, you find the kid that closely resembles the traits of their original parents that you're looking for, and then cross that with the parent. select the kids from that vile hookup, with the qualities you want, then cross em again with the parent. raise the kids, find the one you like, and keep repeating. i "hear" (read) that you'll want to get at least 3-4 generations in before its even close to stable. half your kids will be a 50/50 mix of the parents, 25 % will be whatever the dominant trait+rec; and the other 25% will be recessive. what you wanna do is keep those 50/50 kids crossing with the parents until you get a higher % of dominant traits. but that may take awhile. especially with unknown strains. good luck weeding out the undesirables..

It would be really nice if I got a male and female from these two seeds, easier that way. But if I get all males ill collect pollen, and if all females ill have to find some pollen to pollinate and get seeds, I really want to keep this strain going, and be smoking it for the years to come.

the chances are that if you only got two seeds in the full bag, it was the plant that pollinated itself. the chances are that both seeds will be female with a tendancy to herm. you may get lucky and they won't develop balls, who knows.

Thanks man, It would be nice even if they were females that self pollinated again. I just hope the seeds sprout, they look good.
