Hermaphrodite question

I have about twenty seeds from some decent reefer that I would like to use for an outdoor grow next summer. To be sure that the seeds re not hermaphrodite I am going to grow a small test crop of seeds indoor under florescents, I am not really concerned about the quality of the indoor test crop, I just want to be assured that the seeds I am using will be of good quality for crop next summer.
So the question is if I start the seeds at 12/12 from seed will that increase the chances of the seed becoming hermaphrodite anyway because it thinks that it missed it's chance to be pollinated naturally?

Do I have to give them the appropriate veg time to get an accurate test crop?

just do what you said and ,it wont cause them to go hermi, just keep them on the 12 12 and dont peek in on the plants when the lights off, cause that will cause hermies, and dont stress the plants out by over fert or to cold or too hot or low humidity and you will have a perfect test crop

No, starting a crop with 12/12 will transform your plants into hermies. Usually, at a 12/12 from seed grow, the plant still has a typical 1-2 weeks veg growth so that it can mature enough to bare flowers. After the 1-2 weeks bud production actually starts.
Biologically speaking, they still grow normally because the lighting lets them believe that it's still autumn and they have chance of catching that last pollen of the year.
Hermies usually appear from constant stress (bad temps, humidity, over/under watering, overfeeding, deficits, etc etc).

i just saw a guy with two awsome plants on here that were from seed 12 12 and he wasnt talkin about hermies,it could happen,i dont see why that would trigger anything except small buds.
