High wattage cfls in HID reflector?

Hey guys,

Just a question about using those 125/200w cfls. I understand they use mogul sockets, but could you use them with a regular HID reflector that has the cord that goes into the ballast rather than a power cord? Would that require splicing the wires or is there some sort of adaptor out there?

I'm curious because I have one of those basic wing reflectors with the lamp cord and i was thinking that a 125w cfl in there would be great for vegging...

Thanks!

Socket -> Wire -> Plug. Red to red, black to black, green to green (or exposed ground wire) Can't use the ballast. If you use wire nuts make sure to wrap it all up in electrical tape. Following those guidelines you can just put a female adapter on the end of your to-ballast plug after cutting.
