I searched RIU and didn't find any threads on this. I was curious if putting hot or boiling water would produce steam that would help expand the lungs for a better hit. I found a couple answers on some other boards, but I wanted to add the information here for anyone interested.
It appears the best method is to add boiling water (or hot enough to produce steam) to your main chamber and if you have an ice catcher, add ice on the top. (Warning: Don't mix ice and boiling water in cheap glass, or it's liable to break.)
Having to find out for myself, I gave it a try with some GSC that was a little harsh on the first hit, dumped the water, added hot water from my Poland Spring dispenser and three ice-cubes on top. It tasted like different meds. I packed a fresh one and the experience was the identical.
Enjoy
