This is my first round of hydro and this is my plan: I'm gonna veg for 6-8 weeks hydro style, swap to 20 gallon geo pots let them acclimate for 2 weeks and flower.

How are they looking and what do you think of the plan?

Look pretty good for day 22. Setup is very organized but i wouldnt of used THAT much hydroton. Not that it hurts the plants or anything but that much seems very expensive and a pain in the ass to clean. Other then that the plants look awesome. You might need some more space between when they get bigger unless you doin SOG sytle. What line of nutes are you usin?

As SS says they'll get big lol. I veg for 15-20 days tops and plants are pushing 5 feet by end of run! I've had strains that topped out at over 6' with a 25 day veg and had to break the shit out of them to keep them out of light lol. White Russian is the worst one so far for hieght that I have grown. 121024-2114-21.jpg This was my first hydro grow (WR) and these girls still had 3 weeks to go, I had no ideal they would get this tall, never had this issue in soil BTW lol.

Wow great setup! I am a complete newb but I have never vegged for very long. Always behind and running out lol. How difficult will it be to transplant them? Won't the roots be tangled up in the hydrotron? Like I said real newb here lol.

that was what i was gonna ask too. i seen you said you were gonna switch them into geo pots..but if the roots grow down into the hydrodont itll be a pain in the ass to get it out. i think your setup is beautiful tho. makes me jealous...lol

I'll try and answer your questions later today when I load up my desktop,I hate doing this on my phone.
The roots don't worry me much. If I've got to shake them loose if each other I will, if they were in soil I'd be breaking the ball up and ripping the roots up a bit anyhow. If I end up having to put some of the hydroton
Pellets in the pots its no big deal. After the transplant I'm gonna give them 1-2 weeks to adjust before doing into hard flower. My goal is to get .p per plant.
When the doors are open.

I'm running quantum 1k ballasts on 220 and they're pushing digilux bulbs

It is lol. I did notice that you had three timers. Not saying that it will happen but i had problems with my heavy duty timers blowing out so I built a controller that operates my lights using one timer to operate a set of contacts which turns on all lights at same time, it works great so far (1.5 years). The controller acrually does a bit more, ventilation, CO2, etc. Pretty easy to build.121104-1922-55.jpg

I had a real electrician wire the place out I've got 2 lights per breaker and they're wired up 220 he said I'll never run over 80%.so my ribs run off of 4 breakers q for the mini split, 1 for 110 for fans and whatnot and 2 220 lines for the lights.

Between myself and my girl we've got 5 ferrets now. They're illegal here in ca though.

It was the timers I had issue with. I was going directly from lights to timers and kept blowing out the timers but it might have been the brand. I wonder why ferrits would be illegal? Do they cause damage? I knoow there's a big issue with black footed ferrits die off but didnt think domestic ferrits were of concern. Well were not allowed to grow pot in canada so there you go lol.

I don't suppose you have more info on your controller do you, wiring diagram, parts list etc?
I like the idea of something that is home built as it is easier to repair or trouble shoot if something goes wrong.

Light direct to timers is a no no, the inductive load of a ballast will burn the contacts in most timers within a short time span, timers should only be used to control a contactor relay which is designed to switch inductive loads.

No, no wiring diagram but basically just use a 115 or 230 volt (coil) contactor with a high enough amp rating. Use the timer to pull in the contactor. My controller uses low voltage (24) because my board is low voltage as is the digital control. If you PM me I can provide a diagram for a simple light controller. There are a few brands of timers out there that are supposed to handle lights. lots of growers use timers directly connected to lights, I just had shit lick I think lol. Commercial timers are another option.

I already built my own light contactor using a 40A solid state relay, it was the other stuff i was interested in.
Sorry Red didnt see this till today ummm ya I could draw up a diagram for sure its basically a furnace circuit board that uses the blower control to power heater and extraction fan for cooling using a thermostat. I use a couple of relays to open a circuit for CO2 when extraction is on. I need to get a new board though that has a programmable cont blower so I can time the CO2 dispersal. There's all kinds of things that can be done with the newer DC blower controls for modulating blower speeds as well. As you can guess Im a refrig mechanic that likes to fiddle lol. I will try and get a drawing up soon.
