My process starts weeks before harvest. 2 weeks out I remove fan leaves and larger leaves to give the buds more sun to fatten up. 1 week out I'll often stop watering. You have to be pretty good at weed to figure that out. I cut the plant at the base and hang upside down for 7-10 days. I'll manicure a lot of the plants while upside down and wet. It just saves time. Once you can't bend a small branch without it snapping, I cut off individual buds or colas and put them in the curing jars. I eat a lot of spaghetti so there's no excuse for not having glass. Get the oregano smell out because it WILL affect the weed taste. Open once a day for about 10 minutes. Do that for a few weeks then store them until use.
When I first harvest I always dedicate several branches to water curing. Manicure and cut off buds. Put in water. Make sure water covers whole bud. Keep for 24 hours, changing water at least once. Water will be very green. Take all buds and put it on a rack or something with a fan hitting it for another day. The buds will get completely dry and be extremely smooth with little taste and very potent. I do this so that I can smoke my grow without waiting and without completely damaging my bud.
