How long until I can expect to see two new shoots? (**pics**)

I topped my plant yesterday, have you any idea how long it should be until I notice two new shoots coming out?
When I sliced (topped) it and saw some goo sort of ooze out and cover the wound...

Here's some photos; they get progressively closer up to the subject from left to right...

Depends on...lights, nutes and experience... give it time..the plant in my avatar was topped at 6"....doing great now..that pics a month old....

A month; takes time to heal and then start new growth elsewhere.
