I am growing Purple Kush Auto, and I am on day 10. I want to add my Fox Farm Trio "Grow Big" nutes. I know I only use 1/4 of what the recommended amount calls for, but if you look at my pics, should I use 1/4 of what the bottle says for SEEDLINGS, or 1/4 of what the bottle says for GENERAL FEEDING? Thanks! :)

Id go with general feeding for an auto..learning to read your plants needs is a good skill to cultivate...

At that stage there should still be nutes in your medium. Once you start I would use 1/2 strength of the seedling mix and watch them, if there is no adverse reactions by the next watering go full strength seedling and move up from there.

A good book and a couple of meters will go a long way in your sucess.

A lot depends what you have them planted in. I use a 50/50 mix of FF frog and BCuz mix for the first transplant, ( 1 gal bags) and straight ocean forest when I go to a 3 gal bag. I also use the same nutes as you and always start with the seedling recommendations when introducing nutes, but the plants can go weeks without any additions other than water. Scoga's recommendation of learning to see first hand what your plants need is sound. Most new people over do both water and nutrients. Good luck!

Blueberry, you said start with seedlings recommendations when introducing nutes. My fox farm Grow Big recommends 1/2 a teaspoon per gallon of water. So I would use 25% percent of a 1/2 a teaspoon? That seems awfully low.:confused: IF you look at my pics dont you think I should start at General Feeding instead? Grow Big recommends 2-3 teaspoons per gallon of water, so I could use 25% of 2-3 teaspoons per gallon water. Thanks!

Bawse103, start with 1/4 teaspoon per gal when you start giving nutes. Just remember that you may not need ANY nutrients for weeks. What is your growing medium?

You have all the nutrients you need in a 3 gal container with that soil to probably take you at least until flowering. The bad rap on that soil is over burning young plants is not so much a problem with your soil but people feeling the need to add something. Do NOT add anything other than water right now.

Next time replant seedlings into a 1 gal bag/pot. The 3 gal takes up too much area under your lights and is harder to keep moisture consistent from top to bottom in the container with such a small plant. You may have to water the plant lightly a few times so as not to keep water standing in the lower part of the container until the roots can make it down there. Looks like you will be fine!
