how much light for the new growth

i was wondering how much light a seed needs after in the ground?

You could do one 100w bulb I imagine, but don't expect to grow the entire plant like that.

100w of cfl is enough to get started but as poopmaster says, you will do better if you add more light as it grows, and a mix of 6500k and 2700k.
