I have two young plants about 3 weeks old I believe they are indica b/c they are very bushy and only about 4.5" tall. I currently have them under cfls but was wondering if it would be bad to change them over to my 400hps to make room for the real young plants under the cfls. I have them on a 24/0 shedule and have for the last 2 weeks. If I do change should I go to an 18/6? I know hps is better for plowering this is why I am asking Ive never tried to veg with that light before. Thanks in advance for the help! :weed:

no, your fine, go ahead and change out the lights. I veg under the same light. under 18/6 to save electricity.

you dont have to change to 18/6 though....... but personally I think the plants benefit from a little sleep time.

yeh you can do that, its absolutly fine, you could continue the 24/0 schedule but id personally change to 18/6,thats what i do after 2weeks coz 24/0 starts to make my plants looks tired at about the 2week point on 24/0,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,peace

yeah, if you don't have metal halide, hps will do fine, your plants are pretty short so you should be fine with a little bit of stretch as you transition into flower...

unless you have a very short grow space, you will be fine.
