I'm really thinking of buying a hydro hut mini. Anyone hav experience with them. I'm going to put a 400 watt cool tube in there- is it too much or just enough. How about a 600?? Its the perfect size for me, 3x3x6.7- i'm just a little sceptical about claims of being light prof with no light leaks. Any info or input is appricited.

Thanks

PB:peace:

btw- before everyone says build your own, i'm not handy, and i can afford it. I'm just looking for a nice, neat easy fix for a small lightproof growroom.

Lots of people had their plants die from the plastic inside the hydro-hut. Fuck them! Get a different brand.

I was this close ---> <--- to buying one. But I looked at the design and thought to myself this looks really cheezy. Basically all it is, is canvas with sprayed poly on it, with a so-so sturdy frame.

The only good thing I can say about it is, is the fact that you can put it together in just a matter of minutes.

For the investment in didn't really seem that practical when I was looking at them. I was also looking at what else I needed to buy and the extra expense of buying a manufactued grow tent seemed unreasonable at the time. If they were only $100 for a 4X4X6 I probably would of bought it.

Plus with the walls being so flimsy, your really limited to what you can and cannot do.
I built both my veg room and flowering room. In my flowering room it's made wood and it sits 18 inches off the floor. I did this so I can keep my resevoir outside of the room.
Also I use expandable curtain rods for my plants to grow around.
Plus it's secured, it would take someone a hell of a time to open it up.

I used to build houses years ago, so making a plan on how to build it was a piece of cake. It was just time consuming. It took me about week from planning to finishing.

Take a look in my gallery and you'll see pics of both my rooms that I built.

DO NOT!!! I REPEAT!!! DO NOT BUT A HYDROHUT!!!

Those things are deathtraps. I bought a hydrohut mini a few months ago, ignoring the warnings I'd heard about how it kills plants. Within a week of putting my clones in, they were nearly dead. I scrapped the HH and bought a Secret Jardin Darkroom and the plant's reversal was incredible.

BUY THE SECRET JARDIN!!! It has a pebbled metallic interior which reflects 95% of light instead of the HH's 80%. The interior protects from thermal imaging as well. In addition, the Darkroom has more vent holes, larger air vents, and the thick metal crossbars on the ceiling are not only more sturdy than the coathanger supports that are featured in the HH, but they are also adjustable (unlike the HH). Get the secret jardin, NOT the hydrohut...I promise you won't regret it.

And don't buy from HydroWholesale. They are scam artists.
