Hey guys, I have all my stuff ready to go, but the drains on my 5 gallon bucket and my 18 gallon tub are leaking. I have tried styrofoam washers, rubber washers, grommets etc. I couldnt find any pieces made for it so I kept trying to make my own.

I am very frustrated and have no idea what to do. Can anyone help me?

Thanks

Hey Tom, you trying to just come hang out and be my personal encyclopedia? =P

I appreciate the info a lot sir. I got lucky though, I chopped up an old plunger and finally got it sealed up nicely, I am buying some water proof silicone for it too tomorrow though.

Yeah I would just get rid of the plunger fitting and maybe just get a rubber grommet and seal that in nicely with the silicone or just use only the silicone to seal the drain on nicely. Just make sure to let it dry for however long it says on the bottle of silicone, it takes time to cure

I can't find any rubber grommets, they don't exist as far as I am concerned. I have been to homedepot 10 times in 4 days and have not seen them

Than just seal it up real good with the silicone. Don't be afraid to really gunk it on there

I tried and it failed miserably. I gunked it up hard. It got to the point where I went out and bought a new tub and 5 gallon bucket that I am choosing to not put a drain on.
