Ive had this liquid ph test kit along with the test tube to apply drops to containing the solution u want to test.. the thing is i have no colour chart so i hav no idea what the colours meen..all i kno is that my tap water turns green and when i add ph down its goes to yellow then to orange.. could some one please share there colour chart with me? i have no other way to check the ph and rather stick wid wht i got.. thanks

...sure. Red = 4.0, Orange = 5.0, yellow = 6.0, green = 7.0, and I believe blue is 8.

...if your in soil/soilless, you want a yellowish green = 6.5
Good luck.

The best advice anyone can give you is get rid if that shitter and buy 1 of these:

yup yup my GH liquid testers i like to keep at a piss yellow
its around 5.5 when my buddy tests it with his dip stick.
Works fine for my bubbelponics and ebb and flow. personally i would rather to only have to calibrate my hanna ppm meter than three lil probes and have to replace them all the time. Besides no matter how much you use them the liquid testers never lie.

Late on the dittos but I vote for yellow green too. In fact I like pure yellow. Mine dont show getting too acidic till it starts turning orange. Most tap water around these parts anyway is high Ph as it comes out of the faucet but its real consistent. ! capful of cheap store brand lemon juice per gallon of water makes it just right and has for years. Once you get that formula settled you pretty much put the checker away unless you forget whether you have ph'd the water or not. In that case you can check it to make sure. That happens a lot to intoxicated people. Now if you a forunant green minded person who captures rain water, you will find that to be acidic. Well water, not much telling. Hope this helps.

SUG...clear your inbox, I tried to PM you!

I would say to spend a few bucks more for a meter that will calibrate digitally. The screw type runs out of screw!

As for the liquid testers...color is subjective to the individual mind. It is reflected light captured by our eyes then converted into a message in our brains...what I see as 6.3 on my liquid tester is 6.8 in reality...but it is consistent!

...exactly, the liquid tester NEVER LIES, don't need calibrated! Bulletproof! Unless your color blind.
...I have Bluelab ph meters also (truncheon, and the square one) I wouldn't get the truncheon again because you can't buy the replacement probe @ my hydrostore...however, the square pH meter by bluelab is the best I've used for ph balancing electronics. But, I always use my liquid pH testing tube and bottle after using my bluelab...and it has saved my ass a few times.
