I change oil but i don't do all of the stuff. i go to my car dealer for tuneups once a year. They might do the same thing but at least they didn't get caught

actually... did you think they made cars so advance with out making sensors to find the problem..

Small fact people dont know about is under the steering wheel there is a plug that you hook up a device and it tells you a code. you take that code and go to a chart and it tells you whats wrong.

this device is called a scantool AND YOU CAN GET A CHEAP ONE FOR $60

My next car I'm not going to go to any place to change the oil. They put the nut holding the oil in on really hard. I tried to get it off, didn't know which way to turn it and ended up breaking my oil pan. I once paid like $200 on a damn oil change because the switched out the air filter for the cabin and a few other things. Never again. Now I know where everything is.

I'm a woman.....I just take it as a given that I'm gonna get screwed by mechanics. =\

I just wear a low cut shirt and maybe a skirt when I go...hopefully that's enough for them to not overcharge me.

Uh yeah guys, the newer cars are easier to work on than the older cars. You had to actually figure it out on the older cars.

Like the man said, scantool, check harborfreight.

Let me know how that skirt thing works out after you get done paying for blinker fluid. They don't care, they'll smile and stare and then fuck you anyway.

You can go to these places but you have to be able to let them know your smart enough for them not to scam you. Here is what I say to them. I want an oil change and nothing else if you break the drain plug washer then its your problem not mine. They never break it on my vehicles. When I have the time I do it myself. We just bought a new car 3 monthes ago and we saved 2300 bucks by saying no to the rust proofing and undercoat.....I did it all myself for less than 100 bucks.
