I'm STILL Practicing My Cloning Technique: PICS Inside !

Stumbled across the threads on DIY bubble cloners...gee, I wish I wouldn't have seen those threads:



















125W CFL. Two 8" airstones, one for each group of six positioned long ways under each group. Heating pad set on medium. Not currently using pin timer; some thread suggest cycling bubbler. Will run pad and air pump continuous for this run, watching that the water temp doesn't rise above about 83-ish.



We've all seen these built a million times, so I won't slop up this thread w/ DIY B.S. What's a bit different about mine is the use of Aluminum foil to block all light. No paint, or sticky solvent-based rubber coatings or any of that shit. If this prototype works, I'll expand to a 30 site design.

should work fine...you need three things to get a cutting to root: warmth, high humidity and darkness for the roots. Lose any one of those and your success ratio will drop greatly. Good luck with your cloner, I only figured out cloning two months ago, after years of unsuccessful attempts.

The clones wilted just a bit, but were perky and upright 24 hours later. No dome, no misting. Heating pad underneath set to 'low' w/ a pin timer that cycles the heat 30 min on, then 30 min off. Here they are 36 hours post-cutting.

Sadly, I fucked up the first batch. Scraped WAY too much from the stems; actually scraped away ALL the cambium layer. All that was left was the woody core of the stem! (oops)

Set out another batch. THIS time I added GH Rapid Start at the aggressive concentration (2 tsp/5 gal) and also the weak nute solution (Flora Nova grow, 1/4 t per gallon). Set out the batch on 10-13-12. Let's see how we do this time.

Thanks. A raft cloner is my next project. Thinking of using old styrofoam egg cartons for the rafts.

Nice nubs and a few tiny roots on one clone after about six days. Will post pics later.

Here we are just about six days from putting these in a bubble cloner. Decent root growth on one, and nice nubs on the remainder:

Got four nice clones into a little DWC unit under a 250W MH. Let's see how they do.
