before i go and spend a bunch of money on an indoor setup is it really that much better then outdoors?

if you go outdoors you face a few problems you won't indoors:
-easy detection by cops flying over your grow
-people walking into your grow and taking a total on it or tipping of the cops about you
-animals eating up your crop
-weather not playing along with you

in my mind a indoor grow is far better to hide, and you can lock it up so no one gets into it.

on the other side, if you got a good spot and time on you side a outdoor grow ain't a bad thing too:) i started growing outdoors since i could grow indoors back then and all that hiking back and for to my grow wasn't to bad either for me:D

Well, when you consider TIME, SAFETY and WORK, there is no arguement to me. Especially comparing OUTDOOR SOIL to INDOOR Hydroponics.
OUTDOORS is early spring to late fall, or 6 months. They are getting light or darkness 12/12 or 10/14 or somewhere in between during VEG or Grow Stage. When it rains or they are watered, they get water, some food or nutes, and some small amounts of oxegen. There are bugs, deer, rabbits, hunters, thieves, and bad weather to contend with. Plus the narcs hunting your grow.
INDOORS IS ANYTIME during the year, and with 24/7 lights, or DOUBLE light, you cut that grow-time in half OR LESS. A lot less than 6 months!
With Hydroponics, they are always watered, always fed, and the extra additional OXEGEN makes a tremendous difference. And NO hunter or deer or thief will find them. Plants stay clean too. I've grown outdoors in large quanities, but never again.
PEACE

ok, what about in your backyard, legal, good soil, good nutes, bug control, excellent sun coverage? i can yield 1 lb per plant if i do it all right. i'm going outdoors.

no vote here. the two choices complement each other so well. indoors affords you year round nugs. outdoors is crazy inexpensive. the sun = good shit. you should invest in at least a small indoor setup. that way you can avoid males, get your ladies a good start, then move them outdoors. why limit yourself?

i agree with fdd i grow outdoors the yeild trumps indoor anyday make indoor plants look like seedlings unless you have a huge ass room outdoor has no limit to growing/root space and it's just better and better tast to it to it's just better i said better alot fdd you kick fucking ass your my idle i wish to learn your ways i growem big but not as big as yours

I like breeding indoors...also get some good smoke. Outdoors is nicer... not tied down with all the indoor upkeep.

oh and i prefer outdoor. the buds grow bigger and so do the plants. plus we do everything organic

Outdoors is good if u want big monster plants but there are downsides to it. If your not permitted to grow its against the law and easier to get caught. The weather where u are might not be suitable for growing outdoors. I personally think its safer to grow indoors as there are to many other things that could go wrong growing outside.

If i had the oppurtunity i would grow indoors and out would love to veg indoors a sativa for 3 months then put it outside to see how big the bitch will get. i heard some plants can grow up to 6 meters now that would be a monster.

If you want quality, hen definitely go with outdoors. Nothing can come near the power of the sun and mother nature.
