Input on growing in a crawl space or basement

In my house this is the best, most low key place to grow. I was thinking about finishing my crawl space and growing in there (5 foot tall, 700 sqft)

Ppl are telling me that the basement and crawl space will be too hard to control the humidity. Is there anything tat i can do to prevent this problem and still grow in the crawl space?

When you say finishing what does that entail? I use my crawl space and it is unfinished in the sense that there is only concrete floors and walls, but I don't have dirt like some people. My humidity stays at around 30-55 depending on when I watered. Mostly the heat of the HPS and the crazy amount of circulation, from both exhaust and circulation fans, prevents my humidity form creeping too much.

If I were you I would measure the levels of humidity for a few days and then plan your design around that, you can always get a mold resistant strain as well.

i have a crawl space filled w gravel and a mylar sheet on top of it. i was thinking about getting the basement doctor to come out and finish it and keep the vents accessible (maybe even create a new one).

That idea is awesome. If I could have messed with vents this would be a completely different grow. But yes, basements rule and I like mine for the exact reasons it would scare others-its cold, its damp, its dark as hell, its walls are thick concrete with dirt on the outside preventing temp flux, nobody goes near there. If I was doing my cab in my room or something I would have to keep the AC at 73 minimum, as it is my basement stays there or cooler all the time. When its the dark cycle there is no chance of light leak because there is no light in my basement. Finally, nobody knows anything because my basement is used for storage so there is no hassle with hiding anything.
