Is It Possible To Extract Amphetamine From Dextroamphetamine?

Focalin is not dextroamphetamine...it's dextromethylphenidate (or d-threo-methylphenidate), the active enantiomer of Ritalin. Looks like the particular formulation of Focalin makes it a time-release medication (longer-lasting, but probably slower acting as well). But dextromethylphenidate and dextroamphetamine are two different compounds....so, no, it's not possible to extract dextroamphetamine from Focalin.
Edit- can't figure out how to delete these two images here. Was supposed to be a comparison of the chemical structures of amphetamine and methylphenidate, but only two images of methylphenidate came out for some reason. Anyways, if you visit this link, you can choose the two compounds and see the difference (and similarities) in chemical structure between the two.

I was thinking of what speed would be like the other day, I wouldn`t know as I haven`t taken it but I`ll tell you what I think and you tell me if I`m wrong. This is for my info
I slept for about 6 hours in 3 days studying intensively drinking loads of coffee along with loads of caffeine pills (swallowed with coffee). The result is feeling very energetic but having a mind unable to concentrate or think about anything complex while not being able to sleep either... Just doing dead simple things like staring around, watching videos, playing around with things, kinda like how I would think of tweaking. Oh, and couldn`t study either, just burnt out lol
Is this how tweakers feel, but with an added element of euphoria?

I am prescribed adderol. I will typically take 5-10mg at a time. Any more, and I get jittery and anxious. Compared to caffeine, it has a lot more stimulative properties. I find that it elevates my mood, and makes me want to conversate a lot. It will cause a decrease in blood flow to the extremities, which will make your hands and feet cold, and i don't know about you guys, but it makes my dick shrink! It definitely gives you the ability to concentrate, even when you are tired, unlike caffeine... I must say, the crash is terrible. It always makes me feel irritable and slightly ill... like i have a low grade fever and I'm run down. Some of my friends would blow over 100mg per day. NUTS I TELLS YA!
Oh yeah.... you can't get as high from smoking weed when you are on adderol. Back in undergrad, I used to take adderol, roll 4 blunts, and intermittently study then smoke. *I got a 4.0 that semester

Adderal is two amphetamine salts, Dextro and levoamphetamine, they are left and right isomers, and levo is what causes the jitteryness, and is much less euphoric than dextroamphetamine. Dextroamphetamine is Dexedrine, and is a very smooth stimulant, great euphoric abilities, beats the hell out of every prescription amphetamine except Desoxyn (methamphetamine). I say you get Dexedrine, tell the doctor the Focalin isn't working for you, and you've had success with dexedrine, as sampled a long time ago from a friend. You won't regret it.
Pure alpha-methyl-phenethylamine (amphetamine) isn't nearly as fun as the other substituted amphetamines, dextro, meth, etc, etc. I think you may be confused there.

I don't know anything about the amphetamine group of drugs. I only sought a prescription to help me study. I was shocked when that was all that I needed to tell my physician. I think adderol is good for me to use because I don't like it that much. It elevates my mood slightly, and makes studying seem less boring. Any more euphoria, and I could potentially abuse it by taking it at times when I don't have school work to do. Also, i went to a new doctor this time, and he must have misunderstood what I was telling him, because he ended up writing me a script for 60 tabs! Those will last me forever! Or at least 3 months!

Somewhat, but 2cb is much more complex and has just a phenethylamine chain, which tends to be more psychedelic, than stimulant, but still has stimulant properties, which is why mescaline, 2ce, 2cb, etc. are so stimulating. DOB is 2cb except with an amphetamine instead of a phenethylamine chain. It is much more stimulating, but still extremely psychedelic, much more so than 2cb. I know a lot about pharmacology, so if you hae any general questions I'd be happy to answer.

Very interesting. I have yet to try all of the substances you just mentioned, besides 2cb. I gotta leave some substances on the bucket list!
I find pharmacology interesting, but I have yet to take an actual class on the subject. I'll be taking one next semester, but I somewhat doubt I will be learning about anything other than opiates benzos and amphetamines...

That's why I lean towards getting a good helping of everything. Beginning pharmacology classes are a bit benign, I remember taking one, the teacher thought I was some kind of genius.. She seriously couldn't stop talking about me, and how much I knew about it. I just told her it was my hobby, and she *assured* me that I would be a great pharmacologist, that sure was uplifting for me. A bit much though on her conjecture about me, I mean it was a freaking Pharmacology 101 class! lol (I was 17 then, I graduated when I was 16 from HS)
You want to read some formal medical texts and pharmacology texts, especially neuropharmacology. Dave Nichols is amazing for papers about radioactive ligands, and all psychedelics. NBOMe-2cc (It's active at levels near LSD, 300 mics intranasally will floor you) It's also supposed to be much more like LSD than any kind of 2c. I am going to be getting 10 tabs of it soon. Can't wait to try it! He synthesized it, and about every other psychedelic discovered in the last 10 years..
Also, you'd LOVE DOC, (you'd probably like DOM more, but that's illegal) it's very like LSD, except way more energetic and has a real euphoric body load. The whole time it feels like energy is rushing through you, it lasts 20 hours, and it's amazing. Floored me (DOI), I have yet to write a report, and I am afraid I've forgot some of it. But holy shit was it awesome.

lol, I took a class with Dave Nichols when I was a grad student back in the early 90's. He's a very cool guy, and I'm pretty sure he's tried a lot of psychedelics himself, too.
No doubt he has. He gives qualitative reports on a lot of psyhedelics, and how can you do that?? At least someone in your lab has tried them after testing for any toxic metabolites of course. He's a bit more reclusive than Shulgin on the grand stage, but that's because he doesn't have any prominent books out. I can't believe you took a class with him, that's fucking awesome.. Wish I had the chance. Remember which class?

It was a seminar class about medicinal chemistry...that's all I remember (it was along time ago...and I've done a lot of drugs since then, lol). I was in grad school for synthetic organic chem, so I took it just to get a taste for med chem. Wasn't even into psychedelics at the time, so I didn't appreciate the significance of taking a class with the Dave Nichols. But I could tell he was cool. I'm not even sure how much of his better-known research had been done by that time. I wouldn't be surprised if he and his grad students had tested a few of their earlier discoveries on themselves...but I wouldn't go so far as to say that his approach is anything like Shulgin's, since Nichols operates in an academic setting -- there are alternative (more accepted) testing methods that are readily available to him in the medicinal chemistry department.
