Is it possible to go over board with LST

I just did some training on 2 of my girls and I have a feeling I went a little over board, they had been topped and cloned a few times and the tops of these girls did sit a good 11-12 inches from the top of the pot and I tied down pretty much every branch and the tops are now lucky to be 2-3 inches above the pot
 
All strains are different. Strains that are heavy producers can have more tops and smaller root zones and still produce large colas. Other strains that are light producers will have popcorn buds if they have too many tops and not large enough root zones. Strains such as blue dream, hash plant, green crack that produce more, you can place less of them underneath a light and have more tops so you will still be able to average about 1.75 pounds per 1000 watt light. With strains like Girl Scout, or OGK, or any other strains that produce less you can place more plants underneath the light and they will have less tops this way they still produce large colas and you can hit close to the golden 2 pounds per light. Generally with coco or soil you can 5 gallon pots for heavy producers and place 9 of them underneath a 1000 watt. With light producers you can use 3 gallon pots and place 12 to 16 of them underneath a 1000 watt. One benefit of using more plants is generally you have a shorter veg period and you can still produce large quantities....but then laws and regulations dictate everything.

Definitely not going to turn Scottie Pippen into Shaq.

I have strains that dwc to 5 pounds / plant @ 8400w/6 plants. That said I have strains that only put out 3. Genetic background is critical.
 
I use masking tape to repair breaks with 99% success.
Sometimes I add a small splint to the outside of the tape with another wrap of tape.

I use zip ties if I "split" a plant at an intersection to hold the sides together.
Remember to remove zip ties a few weeks later as plant will grow to cover zip tie.

I only have knowledge about the one Bagseed I am working with.

I FM and LST , they both seem very productive techniques.
I like Bondage ( in my garden, not bed, lol ) tying down branches allows new shoots to grow. You can have a horizontal branch by tying down, more tops that 1 for sure!

I have gotten 40+ Tops from one plant after really working It over with the above techs.

I have experimented with veg period, I have tried flowering plants at first sign of sex to 7 months in my veg.

Even if broken it is my experience that most (not all) strains come back with a vengeance. My first hydro run got so big it had no were to go so started bending/breaking branches three weeks into flower. It was the biggest yield to date lol. So Tek,hog snares, hog tying your plants, seems you are kind of into it lol.

i like my deer feeder to be in the upright position .......:wall:
on the bright side $20 in cable and $10 in stainless washers and cable crimps and a freezer will fill up fast ..... ohh cant forget the almost 75 cents a shot now for the .22 round to dispatch the would be feeder knocking over bandits ...........
.75 for .22 ammo is insanity used to get 550 rounds for 6 bucks at wally world

I have found that using a plain ball point pen works well. Just put the pen behind the branch that is to be supercropped, at the site you want to make the bend, and press yr thumb into the stem, with the pen behind it, and press with a decent amount of force, until you hear the little snap. then you can just lay it over, and move on to the next one.... that is how I do it, and I have never snapped a branch yet, although I did snap a few before I used a pen....also always do it when yr plant has been recently watered to prevent unnecessary snapage of stems.

just pinch it till it click's and it bends itself way down ........ then in the next couple days it tries to stand back up just tie a loop to the branch and keep it where you want it till it knuckles up
 
I had to edit that first post to make a little more sense. some ppl have no problem at all using their fingers, but that little trick has worked great in my experiences.
