Is it possible to use too much Ph Up/Down?

I woke up this morning to see that my plant appeared to have a lack of calcium.

Using purely RO water this makes sense. I decided to swap out the RO water and made solution with tap. My tap water is at a nice ~7 Ph. The Ph solution I'm using to drop it to 6 is this.

It calls for 1ml per 10 gallons. I used 3ml of it in 3 gallons and the water dropped to about 6.4. It doesn't explain how much Ph would drop per 1ml/10gallon. I'm afraid if I use more that it might harm the plant even through the Ph looks right. I put the plant in yet, I'm just looking for some feedback on whether its safe or not to use as much as I did.

I used Ph altered water using the same chemical to soak my rockwool cube in to sprout, but it never sprout till I removed the chemical and just used plain RO water. Has anyone used this same chemical? Is it too concentrated according to the specifications even though it didn't even drop it a whole point?

Are you growing in soil? Your water Ph for soil should be between 6.3 - 6.8 . Most PH down is VERY strong and it would take only a few drops to reduce the ph from 7 down into a better range.

What are you using for a PH meter? Honestly, with your tap water at 7, for soil I wouldn't even worry about it...close enough and the soil will adjust it!

The active ingredient is sulfuric acid, a nutrient.
Concentration is fine.
Even with tap water that has EC 0.6, a cal-mag supplement is recommended.

After waiting about 15 minutes 3ml got my Ph to 6.3 which I might stay with. Looks like I'll have to get some cal supplement. My nutrients claim to have mag.

They also claim to have calcium, just not enough of it. CaliMagic is a good brand.

My tap water is roughly 7.5ph. And it takes me 1.25ml/gal to get it to roughly 6.5ph.

3ml is more than needed unless that water has some serious buffers in it. Be careful that you are accurately measuring (i.e. calibrate ph)

The amount you use to ph water in most any situation is safe...nobody is starting with water at say 12ph, or at 2. Most corrections are within 2 pts and dont use a huge amount.

A pro would calculate the Phosphorus added with the ph down and include it in any calculations for nutes.

Will have to get this thanks. I transferred it to the tap water with the concentrated Ph solution (reads 6.3). It's still a seedling so not too big of a deal to start over again if things go south. Learn by experience I guess.

Deleted my prev post, i see it averages to 1ml per gallon. It depends what is in the water how much it takes, but in the most general terms it is roughly 1ml per gallon of ph down per point. (phosphoric acid, i havent used sulfuric acid for down).

Too much is ph way out of whack, or so much of an element added it would harm the nutrient mix...which should never happen when you see it takes only 1ml or so per gallon.
