Marijuana is one of the few plants that carry the hermaphraditic trait and the ability to "self" itself to create seeds. If a plant carries this gene and is stressed it may induce hermie flowers as well as female flowers in order to produce seed.
So what can you do to prevent hermies?
Keep stress to a minimum, the factors that increase hermie likelyhood include light leaks during lights out, badly fluctuating ph, extremely high temps & humidity during flower.
Bagseed mostly comes from plants that have either selfed or have been pollenated by a hermie plant (in a female only environment) and therefore will carry the hermie trait.
Get your seeds from reputable vendors, word of mouth recomendations are better than adverts!!!!
Once you find a healthy, robust, fast growing plant from seed, clone it and grow from clones of clones. Guaranteed females with no hermies!! You also get to dial in your grow for these strains meaning your yields will improve.
Avoid femenised seeds. By nature, femmed seeds are "controlled hermies" therefore stress events can cause hermies much easier in these strains.
Hope this helps. W

if you read the reviews online you'll see it does actually work, when used with the saturator.
I've tried the Reverse and penetrator twice when I found hermies in my grow & from personal experience it didn't do a thing both times.
But then again a couple seeds won't kill you either - its just the plant trying to ensure its genetics move forward.

i actually have had hermies both times ive grown ...

the 1st time was 3 bagseed and it was an all out seed fest
but
the next grow was seeds from Sannies Seed shop and i still ended up getting a hermie ...
i only got a few seeds that round compared to the 1st time ...

They stopped selling the strain that i got from them because of reports of too many hermies ...
the weed was still bomb ass though ...

yeah that certainly did help woody man, as much as i dont want to here it but feminised probly aint the way to go if i want to increase my success rate, i here what u say about cloning, just i aint set up for it yet just got the one tent, but aim to buy another n av one for veg n one for flower n improvise some setup for the clones, just want to b able not to buy street weed anymore, and need to find somethink that works for me, just got 72 grammes dry wieght of a plant i culled 2 weeks early, long story y it had to b chopped early but eh got 72 gr and her sister is is about to be ready any day now, shes on day 53 of 12/12 so if the one that finished early is anythink to go buy then i am lookin at maybe upto 3 ounces of dry wieght, the one that was cut 14 days early is a real head high

My grow room is dialed in, I have vigorous growth, no visible stress factors and STILL, one of my Blue Dreams Hermied on me the other day. It happens and it can purely be a trait of that particular seed. Feminized seeds tend to have this occur as some have stated earlier. If you want to ensure a stable grow, aside from a stabilized environment, find some good mothers and just clone from her.

My advice, read a lot! Learn this wonderful plant in and out. There are some really good books out there, I suggest reading them. And of course, reading the forums.. Good luck!

Don't believe everything you read on the internet. There is nothing at all wrong with fems. Ive been growing feminized seeds for years.

If bred properly feminized seeds are as stable as they get.

Keep in mind hermies were around LONG before feminized seeds. Landrace are much more hermie prone than any hybridized feminized seed.
