Is there an RSO sub forum?

First off lots of states sell everclear at different proofs if you got 151 like we have here that’s where your water came from, otherwise it was either part of your process or the material wasn’t dry enough.

Reduce the alcohol in what ever you use at a lower temp(I like a nuwave oven if not going source turbo).

When most of the alcohol is gone I put in a smaller vessel and turn the temperature up to start decarbing. The first bubbles will be big ones and they are left over solvent, after that you will see small bubbles, once the small bubbles stop you are fully decarbed.

If at any point in the process you see the milky looking substance seperating from the oil its water. Best way to remove the majority of it is a lint free paper towel roll up the corner really tiny and barely touch the milky substance it will wick the water out. Repeat until most is gone.

I’d love to hear real info on why not to use iso, I’ve heard a million people say it but most are just repeating what others say. I’d like the actual reasoning that 99% iso isn’t safe anymore.
Thanks for your input. You pose some interesting facts and questions.

Our Everclear is 190 proof (good state for that, at least; if not for marijuana legalization ‍). Interesting about getting the milky/watery part out. I wait & let it evaporate. I’m not really coordinated, and I imagine I’d ’grab’ ahold of the good stuff with the paper towel if I tried. I may get bold and try when I get back to ‘normal’ (I’m going through ‘long COVID’ right now, and it’s a booger. ..the cognitive and equilibrium problems are the worst!)
It takes longer to do, but it works.

I started decarbing this last time and I’m curious if it helps me get to sleep faster. None of the videos show decarbing, and RIck Simpson explains how it’s decarbed, but if I ask, most people say they do decarb before….so, I don’t know. Can’t hurt. I’m glad you explained how it does decarb, though.

Glad you asked about the ISO! I tried it at first, and it just plain scared me. I looked it up and saw how poisonous it is, and was concerned that if I didn’t get it all evaporated that I’d be consuming some. Now, months after I used it, my liver tests are bad. The enzymes are way up, and I don’t know if it caused it or not. So, fear is what changed it for me. It’s a lot cheaper, so if I could be convinced it wouldn’t hurt me, I’d use it, but not unless I could be really convinced .

I think its because ISO isn't made for consumption and is dangerous when consumed in large amounts. When purged correctly it shouldn't be a problem though which should be done regardless
