I have a problem thats been real frustrating. I recently assembled a grow light which is 4 Vero 18 3500k running at 50W each for a total of 200w + the fans. I have 5 fans running, 1 fan just for extracting the hot air from the heatsinks and drivers. So far the heatsinks are cool to the touch with the cool air sucking on constantly. But after all the time it took to build this light I have got nothing good out of it and all it did was damgaged my beautiful Cherry Bomb lady. I have previously tried to use the grow light before i added an extraction fan and the plant did not like it at all and cause the chlorophyl to die in some spots of the leaves. So just yesterday I had the cherry bomb growing really healthy since I had it under cfl lighting. But i decided since I just modified the grow light there wouldnt be anymore heat issues that i would try to introduce the plant to the light and this morning I woke up to the plant being really droopy and she looked like she was was burned by the light because there is dark green spots on the leaves that will eventually dry and turn brown.
My plant looked way better than this with the leaves angled at 45 degrees but now alot of the big fan leaves look damaged.
Is the light too intense for the plant as it is in a 2x2 tent? I have seen people use a 400W HPS is this size tent and the had good results. And i thought LED was supposed to be low heat.
Anyways I even put acrylic covers over the cob chips in an attempt to keep heat down but i still feel heat from the radiational energy through the acrylic but isnt that what i need for the plant. I have put my hand under the light and i doesnt feel uncomfortable just slightly warm.
My temps are 80F to 86F and my humidity is around 40% but i really hope any of you can help me figure out the issue and offer suggestions. I also included some photos of the plant after it has been out of the light so it doesnt look as bad. Thanks This is the top of the grow light
This is the Cherry Bomb plant
This is the damage, it seems that the chloryphyl died and turned dark and it happened on most of the big fan leaves. In about a few days the damaged parts of leaves will turn dry and brown just like this spot on this leaf in the image below but this one only got damged a little
This is just an overall look at my setup
