I am 7 weeks and 3 days into flowering. All of the normal leaves are gone and now the leaves off the bud site are dying too. Is it ready to harvest yet? It is not sick and the stem is green. It is just loosing all of the leaves. Please let me know what you think. Thanks:peace:

The pics aren't the best, but yeah I think it's safe to harvest. The thing about judging readiness by the leaves is that the lifespan of the leaves can be longer or shorter depending on now much N the plant gets during flowering. Some people stop feeding sooner, some later so it is somewhat subjective.

But yeah, I say it's ready.

I did not feed it anything. It is a soil grow and all it got was water. I am going to do things differently next time . This was my first grow. I learned a lot. Oh does it matter that the not all the hairs are red?

If the leaves on the buds are dying you don't want that continuing....cut..the leaves on the plant may die. or sick...but the pics don't really say...keep eye on the prize..that top..Luck

I am a new grower so what are trichs? Where do you find them on the plant? Thanks for your help. :peace:

trichs are the crystals on the leaves and buds. If you dont see a bunch yet then you dont want to harvest. Most strains pack on the most crystalls during the last 3 weeks growth. the terms clear white and amber reflect on the colors of the trichrome(which is the part that gives you the buzz). A clear tricrome or a milky one will give a more uppity buzz with less couchlock, (for that cut when trichs are 50% milks and 50% amber). The more amber they are the more stone they have, (in order to get the stonest buzz cut when 75%+ of the trics are amber)
You need some kiinda magnification to see them though

Is it an indica or sativa? if its a sativa You need to give it some nitrogen rich food and let them keep going. If its an indica then its probably a 8-9 week finisher and its close to done anyways:mrgreen:

sorry to hear bout the internet problems

Well there ya go. So ya you might as well harvest and start over the right way.

There are a lot of the crystals on the leaves. The leaves are dying though. I would say about 90 percent of the hairs are milky and only about 40 percent are red. I am growing skunk but they were bag seeds. So I was never sure what they were. They stink really bad though. So I am guessing that skunk was correct. Probably a skunk mix. I am going to pull it up though. I am sure I will get a little bit baked and if nothing else, I learned from this. I have 2 other ones and they are starting to do the same thing. I will let them go as long as I can and then yank them too. And yes next time I am going to feed them something. I was trying to be a true hippy and just go organic. I guess I leaned my lesson.

thats true as well in another point of view. Ive grown plants naturally with no help from me other than water and they always do more poorly than one that is taken care of and fed right.
Since your growing in soil why not use nutes? Very hard to fuck em up in soil. If you need to get a ppm meter to let you know what strength nutes you need until you get the eye for what your plants are asking for.

take this example,
these are leaves to a happy plant. They tell me they a doing good other than the bits of leaf theyve lots due to bug snacks.

These are plants that have been sligtly heat stressed near the plants tops.

this tells me that they are getting to hot, too much light, and that I may not be watering/feeding frequently enough because of the burnt look and the ADDITON of that little leaf edge curled up.
Stuck my finger in the dirt and low and behold! It was bone dry with a temp of 103F that day. It stays in the direct sun for 2/3 of the day...

foxfarms is organic chicka:neutral:
There may be some kind of organic tea that is nitrogen rich you could mix up and give them. i dont care bout being organic though so i cant tell you for sure myself.:blsmoke:

ya I do not care about organic now either. At least I got them to produce bud before I killed them. With no internet I could not get help. So I guess it was just one of those things. Since it was the flood that caused the net to go down I guess you could say it was an act of nature but it sucks ass either way. Oh well I guess there is always next time

The pics of the plants you posted looked great. I wish I could grow outdoors. But I have no place to do it. I have a question about indoors though. I have a book and it says that it is ok to let the leaves get burned. I am using clf's and a lot of my leaves were burned. Did I have too many lights on the plants?

No, I suppose they ment that its not going to kill the plant if A small area gets burned. Even though the curly bulb part of those cfls dont get hot the ballast attached to them still does. While not enough to burn you hand all together, several of them together are hot enough to burn plants.
Ive noticed that for some reason when a leaf touches flouro bulbs the toucking part dies. Although there isnt enough heat to cook the leaf, it turns yellow and dies.

Fox Farms GrowBig and TigerBloom are chemical ferts. Only BigBloom is organic. And honestly it's not worth using imho.

I wish my plants would grow 130 percent hairs...that would be schweet! your plant is not done

Why be so rude? Yeah the calculations didnt add up, you expect it to its a pothead site here.
If that plants an indica then it will be done very soon Longest flowering time for indicas Ive seen is 10 weeks
