So I might've been a little vague on the title but, I didn't lie... And now that you're here...

I was just checking what home depot had for insulation for some reason right now... idk why lol, but I stumbled upon:

I'm thinkin it'd be nice for a room for insulation like it's supposed to do lol, but what about as reflective material too? Also, you could cut it to size and make it a hood cover for insulation very easy.

What do you guys think?

Anyone? I'm going to be building a room very soon and will need some form of insulation so just checkin my options... Thanks in advance.

I have some shit liike that. If it is bubble wrap with mylar or foil on the outsides it is awesome. Pricey tho.

expensive, might be better off just getting panda film. you can make a nice hood by polishing a peice of sheet metal, giving a nice series of hammer pings and bending to the right shape with rivets.

Those are nice ideas but the point is to have insulation.. thanks tho!

Just saying, "the point is to have insulation" doesn't tell us anything. You are building a room soon, where are you building the room where you won't have insulated walls? The material is super expensive and unnecessary, I wouldn't buy it at all without knowing more about the specific application you'll be using it outside of, "reflection and insulation".

Okay so the plan is to build a room inside an uninsulated garage. I will build the room out of 2'x2's similar to a houses normal construction but not 2'x4's. I am going to insulate it. If i wanted a reflective material like panda film and wanted 100ft of it that would cost around $35. To add fiberglass insulation for the room ( and btw the fiber glass insulation is made for 2'x4's and home depot doesn't even sell anything thats thinner for a 2'x2' wall) it is $12 for a 32'x15"x3.5" strip. Lets say my room will be 10'x10'x7', that'll be 4 walls x (10'x7') = 280'^2. each strip of fl insulation gives us 40'^2, so... 280'/40'=7 strips i would need and 7x$12=$84 in fl insulation. So either I can spend $84+$35=$119 and have to put up fiberglass insulation every 15 inches causing me to have to make my 2'x2's exactly 16" apart and then cut up panda film and tack it on w/ a shit ton left over, or I can spend $129/roll and do both at the same time and probly save more in the wood/shipping/time going with the original insulation stated above.

So for all you doubters out there... do you still think its expensive?
