Leafs wilting - bad water or bug?

Hi,

I am a first time grower. I started to bloom 4 plants about 2 1/2 weeks ago. The plants I have are:

1) Afghani #1
2) Afghani #1
3) Hindu Kush
4) Amnesia

My set up is aeroponics (roots hanging inside a box, with sprayers misting at 70psi, with another box below, collecting the water).
I changed the water and added new nutrients 2 1/2 weeks ago.
As my electronic PH meter had just broken, I used PH strips to measure the PH.

I was away for 1 1/2 week, when I returned all plants were fine.

A few days later, I measured the PH, and it seems a little high, so I used sulfuric acid to bring the PH down (as I do usually).
When I checked the ppm, it was about 2,700 (I guess it went up through evaporated water), which I guess is too high. So added new water to bring it down.

In the last 3-4 days, the leafs of plant no 1 have started to wilt... and the same seems to start happening, though slightly, to plant 2.
The leafs of plant 1 are fine, I mean, nice green colour, no signs of insects attacks over or under the leafs, and no signs of insects on the stem either.
I have also noticed on the lid of the box where the plant are coming out from, a few small insects/bugs.
size: about 0.5mm in length, about 0.2-0.3mm in width. they are light brown in colour, with some black strips running perpendicular to the length of the body (a bit like a hornet). They also have 2 antennas. (Saw this with 15x magnification).

So I am wondering:

A) did I bring the ph down too much (which I suspect I might have done), and with a low ph, it is kill my plant? Problem is that plant 2, 3 and 4 seems ok (plant 1 is the smallest plant).

B) is there some bug/insects that attacked my plant? (problems is that i cannot see any signs of attack).

thanks a lot for your help or thoughts!
