The plant in the first picture has not had any nutes. The second has had 1/4 strength all purpose plant food. I am guessing the second one could be nute burn but what about the first? It has had nothing but water. To see other pics of the plants and my grow setup check out my log in my signature.

im new to this so correct me anyone if im wrong. but from what i've heard is the bottom leaves do tend to eventually turn colors and "die". the forums that i've read this from just said to cut them off. but may be you should do some more research

I don't think that it would be a good idea to cut the leaves off, they still look alright. Most people would recommend removing leaves that are completely far gone, at least more than 50% dead. Might just be a little over watering or something. You're plants look really good though! I have yet to get such bushy, voluminous growth

Yea, you're probably over watering. The leaves looks like they have been drowned. And from looking at your soil, looks like it's just been watered.

Jesus....

they are both undernuted. Give both plants more nutes. Maybe people should refrain from advising when they don't know what the hell they're talking about. this is an easy one. ;)

This is the same leaf from the first pic in my first post. In one day the leaf is all dried up. What could this be?

This is the plant from the second pic. It looks like the same thing.

The leaf stem is red. Could it be a phosphorus def?

Ok, those are much better pics. Looks like it might be nute deficiency? What's your ph levels? I think plants will start to eat themselves when they aren't getting enough or cant get nutes.

I've also read that you can have an N-P-K deviancy when you get red stems.
