LED VS HPS, What's the best route for lighting

I hear arguments for both sides, regardless of electric bills, heat, etc. Which is better for plants, LED or HPS lights? I've heard a lot recently that hps gets bigger buds than LED, that they just aren't strong enough.

Heat is only 1 part to consider, think about what heat is truly. It is energy that didn't get converted to light. You loose much more energy to heat running old ballasts. Digital ballasts improve the efficiency of large bulbs, but led still gives the most light for your dollar and costs less to manage the heat it does create because it's less

Also you don't have to continually replace the bulbs.

For some reason these lights are often overlooked.

Not just Halogen but Halogen-IR™. With the 10° Beam and A PAR value of 38 you'll be hard pressed to find a better light for growing cannabis.

Why would you need to spend a couple grand on lights?
