LED vs Metal Hallide

LEDs generate heat too. If someone has thermal imaging sophisticated enough to see your HID through walls, it's going to see your LEDs too. And, you can't easily vent the heat put out by your LEDs. Not hating on LEDs, but I was surprised by how much heat they put off.

Thermal imaging looking at a LED grow room isnt going to see anything. It will be the same (or less) then if they looked at little olde' Mrs Pringle's shack on the corner. HID's get ALOT hotter then LED's, normal incandescent and florescent bulbs.

With a HID is the super bright element they can see as it`s really hot I mean no way an led gets over 50c but the element on a HID light I have no idea how hot it gets I`d guess it`s well over 200c and have you seen an electric over on thermal set to 220c ? it lights up like a dam xmas tree

People used incandescent lights for how many years ? Tesla invented induction lights how long ago ? I know old people that would still take a 100w incandescent over a 60w cfl where the cfl is clearly so much better.

How much did GE made from not making a better light bulb for all these years ?

And we let them and so did your parents and your grand parents we let them make money off us and fuck the planet at the same time........

It`s always worth investing in something that uses less power and helping to develop that more in the short run yeah an led light will cost you a bit more in the long run it will use less power so it will save you money but also in the long run it will mean your more green and doing less damage to the planet.

Surely that`s worth something ? I mean if for what ever reasons we can`t grow outside surely trying to waste as little power as we can growing inside is something we should all try to do ?

That being said I do use twice as much light as most people would but it does make the bud super super dank lol

How are LED lighting products different from other lighting, like fluorescent or incandescent?

LEDs emit light in a specific direction, where as an incandescent or fluorescent bulb emits light — and heat — in all directions. For direct lighting applications LED lighting uses both light and energy more efficiently.
For example, an incandescent or compact fluorescent (CFL) bulb inside of a recessed can will waste about half of the light that it produces, while a recessed down light with LEDs only produces light where it’s needed — in the room below.

It is not accidental that in a lot of places of planet the old types lightings have also begun replaced from LED lighting.:!:

Because of the box size and my budget.
Would it be okay to strategically place 4-6 CFL light around the inside of the box
