Let's talk breeding purple. Can it be done?

Is it possible to make a female elite hermie and pollinate another elite female clone? I have strong interest in creating an elite new strain, crossing one of my Afghani Bomb females (which I will grow out about 100 seeds to find what I'll call OG Afghani Bomb) to an elite purple clone, whether it be Purple Urkle, Grandaddy Purple, Grape Ape, Purple Haze (if I can find it), Purple Kush, etc etc. If I can't do that I'm just going to get some Purple Star to introduce purple into some F1's, find myself a really potent purple phenotype out of that if I have to since Purple Star lacks the optimum potency. It'd be better to cross it with another 'legend', a more known 'legend' than the Afghani Bomb. Can anybody enlighten me on the subject?

you should try titian's haze it has 25% thc it's the strongest strain out there i just got done growing this. it's an amazing strain powerful. if you were to buy this bud from someone on the street you would think it was laist.

Right on! Never ever heard of this! But Skunk #1 with an Original haze and ending up 25% can't go wrong! THANKS!!!

I say yes it can be done maybe not with a 100% guarantee purple but i hope u post plent pics of u givin it a shot. wouldnt mind haven a purple og afghani! +rep

Yeah, it can be done. I don't even think you'll have to grow out that many seeds. Go for the gold!

Green ribbon actually has the highest thc content with an amazing 29% but back to the subject if a purple strain is what you are looking for i’d go with tahoe og. It is high thc lightish purple not the dark and the buds are very compact.. I would also like to see a documentary on this, i am doing the same thing except i’m crossing purple with blue..

Actually since every seed and plant is different due to the complex variability of dominant and recessive traits (genetics), there is absolutely no way to know or say what plant strain has the highest THC content because all strains will produce plants which have barely any THC and other plants coated in resin. Example: Subcool's "Tiny Bomb." That plant has much more THC than any Green Ribbon or Titan's Haze (which I have never heard of). You can check it out he posted a whole thread about it on this site, but, back to the point, THC content as well as all the other characteistics of a strain is going to vary greatly from seed to seed. Therefor, I would suggest using a proven clone, which also gives the opportunity to sample the smoke before you grow it and choose the flavors and colors and what not that would go together well with your plant. IMO.

What it do Lil Weedy. I love that name When you say Herm do you mean through stress? If your gonna use C-Silver (I have no exp. with) etc. (I think there are 2 other methods) to produce fem seeds then rock on. But if its through light stress or old age I say don't. I would take a heavy fast finishing indie like an Afghan, Hindu, or Hash or better yet a BlackDomania or Blackush(the potential colours on the offspring would b amazing) and pollinate the elite purp of your choice (havent tried any of the mentioned other than P-haze & P-kush). After that the "breeding begins. Grow out seeds, take cuts, look 4 the purps and then select based on traits other than colour..Taste, high, resin etc. I would then get creative crossing the selected F1s with eachother & also Back Xing those same F1s to their mother, the elite purp clone. Then start the routine all over again of finding the purps, selecting the 1s that meets my desires or come closest. I'd keep this up until I could get my hands on another elite purp into the mix, 2 breed with the offspring of my first elite purp experiment. This is just what I would do. It would take time and space, also I'm asuming your in Cali or a bordering state & from what I read the strain game out there is CRAZY & I have no Idea what kind of Ill genetics U have within reach.

PS You could Hermie the Purp & breed them, then select those that dont express the herms, but U know thats some hassle.
