T5 18" above to start, then lower as close as you can without them burning.

The consensus from what I've read seems to be that domes are for clones, not seedlings.
For seedlings, they can do more harm than good. You don't want things too wet and/or cold.

your honestly right but if u have a tent for clones/cuttings u can just run a humidifier and get it up to 70rh in the room always helps they root very nicely and no damage to the leaves suprisingly

T5‘s run about 2-5” from the top as soon as they pop never had any issues with light stress or burning. And that with 4bulbs of 54watts a piece running.
